everyone's price is different.....i talk to gf all the time. depends on tons of factors to determine a rate. obv a prep for a local show guy is going to be different then a upper tier guy.

Farah quoted me 3,500.00 for the year or you can break it down monthly installments. Back in 03' Chad was charging the same amount.

GFarah - $3500/year (actually this was about a year ago, he had a lot of succesfull clients during this time so the charge may had changed a little bit)
hany is around $8,000 for all

These guys are raping bodybuilders with these insane prices. Bodybuilders don't make that kind of money but these guys know that the competitors will do whatever it takes to come up with the money.

Is $50 per hour a descent price? I recently looked into getting a professional trainer. This was the quote I got back.

Average for a typical personal trainer. Of course, a PT is completely different than a BBing guru.

I did. I hired Chris about nine or ten months out from the 2010 USA's. I am not going to list his price as I am sure it is different for everyone but I will say that he has been worth every penny and then some. It is not often that you pay out a lump sum of cash to someone and near the end realize that YOU are the one who got the better end of the deal. Chris is a true pro and has treated me as if I am his only client which is amazing because I am most likely his most low profile client. I will be hiring him again next season...if he will take me.:yep:

That says a lot. All these guys are great, and are capable of helping someone to reach their personal best... but if I were going to work with someone, I'd go with Chris.

I work with George Farah. Its worth every penny so far. When your at a certain level you need someone that has more knowledge to take you to the top of the elite bodybuilders. So we will see what happens at the USA in 9 weeks!

I will probably be one of the few competitors at Masters Nat w/out a guru. Just can't afford it. Farah was one of the lowest at $3500 year with monthly options, others were astronimical, I think Aceto was feeling like he didn't want to fuck with me, so he quoted a stupid price.
I can see where a pro or borderline pro would want to invest, however I think alot of these guys and gals got more cash than potential. Not to sound jaded, but there are a bunch of guys who live at home (got a guy I am prepping for his first show, fits this category) with decent jobs, no responsibility, so they have the income to throw at a guru and drugs. I would be willing to bet that there are fewer guru assisted athletes in MN than at Jr. Nats or USA's. Not only are there fewer chances of turning pro among the pool of contestants, but guys and gals in their 40+ generally don't have the luxury of a guru. My daily dilemma: guru...college tuition? guru...refrigerator? I hope I do well to show you can reach this level without a guru. There is so much good information out there and if you are national/pro level, you should know your own body pretty well by that time.

Kyle and Dusty nailed it. In this industry there are TONS of people who want to take advantage of others. It's very common, if someone is dumb enough to do this, give someone a diet and then they start working together only after a month or some period of time to say "nah I don't like the diet" and then they bail. You're out money and the time invested in that athlete. The other guy just got a free trial run working with someone. Most every nutritionist will have you pay up front or at least put something down.
