Hi Everyone, With all the processed crap we take everyday i wanted to share some Natural Remedies , If you have some please share as well.

Cold and Flu Problems

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is very good for the relief of cold symptoms and to help the body fight infection. The best source of vitamins is always fresh fruit and vegetables. Citrus fruit is especially high in vitamin C. Combine orange, pineapple, seedless grapes, lots of fresh ginger, banana, pink grapefruit, cantaloupe in a blender. Add orange juice if more liquid is needed. This not only makes a delicious drink, but is healthy and fights that cold.

Depression

Symptoms may include sleeping problems, weight changes, fatigue, and low self esteem. In children and teenagers symptoms include pretending to be sick, refusing to go to school, and behavior problems.

Sunlight has many, many health benefits including energy, vitamin D, healing skin, and mood. It causes the brain to produce Serotonin. Refined and artificial sugars worsen depression. And most importantly, studies have shown exercise to have comparable benefits to the depression drugs.

St. John’s Wort: Several studies have demonstrated that this herb improves mood, decreases anxiety, and insomnia related to depression. It increases the neurotransmitters serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine. One study showed it as being similarly effective to Paxil in moderate to severe depression. Research of 23 randomized clinical studies has shown it to be just as effective as the depression drugs are for mild to moderate depression.
5-HTP (5-hydroxytryptophan): this plant derivative increases synthesis of serotonin and significantly reduces depression.

Fish Oil/EFA’s: these are important for the brain’s function to treat and prevent depression. Studies have shown these to help those who have persistent depression despite ongoing doses of standard depression drugs.

Vitamin B12 and Folic Acid: These are especially effective and meant for vegetarians who likely have a deficiency in them and in seniors who sometimes have trouble absorbing them.

Im not sure if this is related but when I take supplemental Vitamin D I notice an improved mood. This might be because I live in the Northwest though and don't see much sun.

Herbs can help with healing of neck pain and are good for acute and chronic problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments and joints

Most topical pain relief products contain one or more herbs as active ingredients which work as an analgesic and counter-irritant disrupting pain signals. These produce the cooling and/or warming sensations and can effect local blood circulation.

Menthol applies to the skin selectively stimulates nerve endings sensitive to cold, producing a sensation of coolness, and also has a local analgesic effect.
Methyl Salicylate is the primary constituent in Oil of Wintergreen, a naturally fragrant oil. This chemical relative of aspirin also relieves the inflammation that causes pain and dilates blood vessels.
Camphor is a penetrating aromatic herb distilled from camphor wood and has a warming property. It alleviates pain, removes swelling, promotes blood circulation and is commonly used topically for contusions, sprains and traumatic injuries.
Capsaicin is extracted from red chili peppers and is the substance that makes chili peppers hot. It is used for pain relief by reducing substance P, which is found at nerve endings and is involved in transmitting neuralgic and arthritic pain signals to the brain. Pain relief is not instantaneous after application as it is the cumulative depletion of substance P over a period of weeks that brings the full effect.

While these topical herbal agents are commonly used in products, it is the specific herbal formula that promotes healing properties as the herbs synergistically to produce a desired effect. Other herbs in a fromula may enhance blood circulation effects and/or promote healing of muscles, tendons, ligaments and joints. Remember that any topical herbal preparation may be irritating to the skin in sensitive individuals.

Natural Remedies for Erectile Dysfunction

L-arginine is an amino acid that the body uses to make nitric oxide, a substance signals smooth muscle surrounding blood vessels to relax, which dilates the blood vessels and increases blood flow. Relaxation of smooth muscle in the penis allows for enhanced blood flow, leading to an erection.

L-arginine is found naturally in foods such as meat, dairy, poultry and fish. It is also available as oral L-arginine supplements, which some product manufacturers market as a "natural Viagra").

There have only been two studies to date, however, evaluating the effectiveness of L-arginine for erectile dysfunction.

One study involved 50 men who took L-arginine (5 grams a day) or a placebo. After six weeks, significantly more men taking L-arginine experienced an improvement in sexual function compared with men taking the placebo. Interestingly, it only benefited men who had initially low levels of nitric oxide.

Another study using a smaller dose of L-arginine and a shorter treatment duration found no benefit with L-arginine use. The study involved 32 men with erectile dysfunction who took oral L-arginine supplements (500 milligrams three times per day) or a placebo for 17 days. Oral L-arginine was no better than the placebo.

Side effects may include digestive complaints. High dosees of L-arginine may stimulate the body's production of gastrin, a hormone that increases stomach acid. For this reason, L-arginine may be harmful for individuals with ulcers and people taking drugs that are hard on the stomach.

Propionyl-L-Carnitine

One study examined the use of two forms of carnitine, propionyl-L-carnitine and acetyl-L-carnitine in 96 men who with erectile dysfunction after prostate surgery. One group were given a placebo, another group took propionyl-L-carnitine (2 grams per day) plus acetyl-L-carnitine (2 grams per day) and sildenafil (Viagra) when needed, and the third group used Viagra alone.

Propionyl-L-carnitine and acetyl-L-carnitine were found to enhance the effectiveness of sildenafil, and result in improved erectile function, sexual intercourse satisfaction, orgasm, and general sexual well-being compared to Viagra alone.

Another study examined the effectiveness of propionyl-L-carnitine supplements plus sildenafil in men with erectile dysfunction and diabetes who were previously unresponsive to Viagra alone.

Participants in the study received either propionyl-L-carnitine (two grams per day) plus Viagra (50 milligrams twice a week) or Viagra alone. After 24 weeks, propionyl-L-carnitine plus Viagra was significantly more effective than Viagra alone.
