My fiance just competed in our state championships over the weekend. She did very well and is aiming to improve for the Junior USA at the end of August. All feedback is appreciated!

I judged that show this weekend and she looked great. Won the overall with no problems. The only thing a can tell you is that she needs to be darker for the National level shows because of the strong lighting and hams/glut tie in is key for her. The blonde in the blue has good color. Let me know how she does. Where are you guys located?

yeah Jude, I was sitting right behind you during the night show. we are in Lafayette. we tried to get her a little darker for the night show, but i think we just didn't go dark enough with the base coats. thanks!

she may wanna soften up a bit. shes got alot of cuts in her legs and they usually like a softer look.

Tammy, her legs probably are too hard from the front, but in order to achieve tightness in her glutes/hams, we had to get them like that. She is flexing her quads in the first pic shown, but she made a conscious effort not to flex her legs...instead she just tried to hold them a little.

Jude, thanks for the offer...if we make our way out there, we will let you know for sure!!

Megan competed at her first national level show over the weekend, at the Junior USA. She took 4th out of 7 competitors. We were disappointed in that we didn't get any feedback via the commentators on the play by plays...they really only talked about the top 3 on here and on MD.com. However, I did inquire on the threads and received from good feedback from Jude and others.

It has been somewhat of an emotional roller coaster since prejudging and we're not sure what the next move is. Initially, Megan wanted to take some time off to make improvements to her back and shoulders and compete again at the very earliest next year. However, after some discussion, we are looking at our schedules and at our finances and trying to determine whether or not we can get her to Atlanta for Nationals so that she can keep her name and face fresh in the judges' minds.

At any rate, for the next show we want to get her color darker and her glutes/hams tighter. She picked up some really good tips on posing and will likely not hold her quads tight in the front poses, as the girls who placed ahead of her had no lines what so ever in their quads. Any and all other critiques are appreciated!
