Welcome to the official website of the 2010 NPC Dexter Jackson Classic
& IFBB Jacksonville Pro Championships! It is that time once again, as planning
has already begun for one of the best NPC/IFBB competition shows in the
Southeast. I am excited to once again make this show a great experience for
everyone and improve from last year!

Overcoming Obstacles....

Whatever your plans are for the 2010 competing season, I want to
motivate everyone to compete in or attend the 2010 DJC and Jacksonville
Pro Championships. In 2009, I was reminded the importance of being
resilient and overcoming obstacles. In 2010, I want to share that faith
with other athletes that commit to hard work. This event is to share
my faith that no matter what, you can overcome anything. No matter what
your goals are, when you step on stage at the DJC/Jacksonville Pro,
what it took to overcome for that moment, would make the journey a
well-rewarded and memorable one! I welcome all 2010 NPC/IFBB athletes
to a competition where their hard work is appreciated and rewarded, no
matter how they place. A competition that is first class behind the
scenes as well as on the stage. I invite all fans to a show where the
audience can experience a first class production of enjoyment,
entertainment and enlightenment!

Lights, Cameras, Action....

Along with the IFBB Pro 202 & Under, and the IFBB Pro Figure, I am
please to announce that there will also be an IFBB Jacksonville Pro
Bikini this year! We will once again have guest posers and appearances
from the top IFBB Pros in the industry. This year we welcome the
amazing 8x Ms. Olympia Lenda Murray, Tony “X-Man” Freeman, 2008 Fitness
Olympia Runner-up, Tracey Greenwood, and others will be in attendance! I
proudly bring you once again, the Q & A Seminar that will take
place Saturday afternoon. Also, Al Smith and the UNF staff will no
doubt, create another spectacular stage with the best lighting that will
make every competitor on stage shine and look their best! We will of
course have a media pit filled with the best photographers representing
the industry’s leading publications/websites.

Please stay tuned and check back with us frequently, as we will be
adding updated information to our pages. I look forward to seeing
everyone come out again this year and thank you for your support. This
show is for all the competitors and fans of the sport!

Anyone know when/where Viviana Alejandra Casarubbia of Argentina turned figure pro? She placed poorly at the Arnold in 2008 (11th) and again in 2009 (18th). My view is she looks great, but has that harder look that is typical outside the U.S. She will be competing at the Jacksonville Pro.

Ava Cowan has to be a favorite coming into this show even with it being her pro debut. Pro card recipient at 2009 Nationals, 1st at Eastern USA & MuscleMania all last year after her return to the NPC with Gaspari. It's been a long road for Ava and she is truly one of the sports over achieving and best known greats even before stepping on stage in Jacksonville.

Might this be the first place win Gennifer has been looking for prior to hitting the 2010 Olympia stage? Sixth in New York Pro Figure and 3rd at Pittsburgh thus far in 2010. Olympia qualified at her first pro show the Ft. Lauderdale Cup with a 3rd place finish after taking the top spots at 2009 Jr. USA and Pittsburgh. This tall blond babe in the bingo business is surely betting on a top placing in Jacksonville. :yep:

Taylor Condren is quite the newbie beauty having I believe made her pro debut at the 2010 IFBB Pittsburgh Pro Figure & Bikini with a 5th place finish. Might she improve on that?

She's Back!
Teresa Anthony must have in mind to show us something having stayed off stage this year after a 3rd place spot at the Kentucky Muscle Pro (2nd in 2008) after two straight years of disappointing Olympia placings. Teresa earned her pro card at the 2007 Team U and went on to place 3rd at the Pittsburgh pro in 2008 and has placed highly everywhere,...except at the Olympia.
Look out! Teresa is in it to win.

Does anyone have anything bad they can think of to say about Tivisay Briceno? One of the sweetest women on the pro circuit indeed. And she is well known considering the number of shows she competes in each year. Thus far in 2010 Tivisay has taken 7th at the Europa Battle of Champions, 12th in New York and 6th at Pittsburgh. Her name could pop up again a few times considering she competed in seven shows in 2009, seven in 2008 and a Pro Debut at the Palm Beach Pro in 2007 after a busy NPC season. Placings have been increasingly favorable as Tivisay seems to be completely engaged in the experience of tweaking the necessary elements whether they be physique, diet, hair or makeup. Underneath it all is a welcome and familiar face for most of her fellow competitors.

Forty year old Kiel, Germany resident Susanne Bock will be stepping on the pro stage for the 14th time in Jacksonville. In '98 Bock began competing in Friedrichshafen home of the original Zeppelin plant a city renowned for its modern MTU-Mercedes production headquarters. Bock went on to compete in Berlin, several times at the IFBB Schleswig Holstein Championship, and Rheinland Pfalz IFBB Championship and always finished in the top placings. Bock's pro debut placing of 4th at the '03 Jan Tana has fatefully been her best placing of her pro career. Can Bock seal another Olympia bid in Jacksonville as she appeared there in 2007? Time will tell.

Sue Upson earned her IFBB pro status in 2008 and made her Debut with an 11th place finish at the 2009 Jacksonville Pro. Might she have placed higher if not for the brain tumor she was carrying with her on stage? Sue kept (Webster as she calls the tumor) a secret from everyone except husband Craig until after she finished the 2009 season competing in Jacksonville, Dallas Europa and finally Atlantic City. Surgery to remove the tumor was successful and the hair has grown back and Sue is feeling fit and ready to go. No one should expect anything short of Upson's usual tenacity as a competitor on stage. She has the ability to make the adjustments to her physique to present a balance of beauty, musculature and flowing lines from her pronounced delts to her quad sweeps. Look for Sue in Jacksonville.

Stacey Thompson in her short stint on the NPC National stage has turned some heads with 1st place wins at Contra Costa and again at Chicago's Jr. USA. Her debut at the IFBB MuscleContest Pro was her lowest placing with a forth place finish. Thompson has made the switch to figure from bikini that elevated her so quickly into the IFBB. Has her work in the gym and the criteria for figure changed enough to elevate her to the top spot? Jacksonville is a long way from Chicago and Cali with a different body of judging. It will be interesting to see. Sara Hurrle hails from Colorado taking first place wins at the IFBB Colorado Pro/Am Classic Bodybuilding And Figure Contest in 2007 and moving up from 9th at the 2008 Jr Nationals to earn her pro card in Chicago earlier this year. Overcoming something of the boyish features Sara is expressing her feminity in recent nude photography and with Isaac Hinds guidance and expertise is in the process of launching her website www.sarahurrle.com (http://www.sarahurrle.com). Expect great things from Hurrle as she debuts on the pro stage and moves on to the next phase of her professional career.

Rosalind Vanterpool has taken an interesting track in IFBB figure after six years earning the coveted professional status competing in the amatuer fitness ranks on the Central American circuit winning in Barbados, St. Martin, St. Lucia, Venezuela, Guyana, Bahamas and Aruba. Vanterpool continues to be a prominant figure in fitness promoting the sport from Barbados through her "Keep It Going" program wherein she trains, motivates and encourages tomorrows' top competitors today.

There is a well-beaten path that Vanterpool has taken in the pro ranks competing each year from 2007 to the present in the Northeast, Texas and yes Florida. Her placing at the New York Pro this year was not kind. Vanterpool's best placing to date has been sixth at last years' Atlantic City Pro. Undetered Jacksonville Pro here she comes!

Petra Mertl a thirty-six year old South Florida resident from the Czech Republic has competed on the IFBB stage from coast to coast each and every year since 2006. Although very attractive Mertl is a bit of a loner and has shot with only a few photographers notably J.C. Lopez in her early years in the states and Ned, the fashion guy from EJC Company. She credits her close friend and personal trainer Darrem Charles with helping her overcome a bad marriage after likewise being estranged from her family in the Czech Republic. Mertl is living out her dream competing and living the lifestyle she loves while hoping to top her best placing of her pro career of seventh as recently as this years' Europa Show of Champions. Will the Jacksonville Pro be the one for Mertl?

Alicia Harris made her way to the physique sports via a Track and Field Scholorship at Eastern Illinois and went on to earn an MSA in Sports Management in 2008. She is a representative for Optimum Nutrition and emcee for Women's National Basketball (WNBA) Team the Chicago Sky. This proud smiley sista is a member of the National Association of Black Sports Professionals and she has much to crow about on stage as well as off. Harris won her IFBB pro status that same year she earned her Masters degree and did so at Team Universe. Her best placing in 2009 was 3rd at Atlantic City and the Europa Super Show. Harris took the 13th spot at the 2009 Olympia. Probably the worst placing of her onstage career was at the 2010 Arnold where she found herself in the 17th spot. Can she snap back in Jacksonville and beat her 7th placing earned there a year earlier? Regardless of placing expect the rooms to light up with that contagious positive energy of Alicia Harris.

Ann Pratt, of Guam transitioned from bodybuilding to figure in 2003 and went on competing that same national circuit that many do and with perseverance qualified for pro status at the 2009 North American Bodybuilding and Figure Championships. Pratt is a financial analyst in the healthcare industry and works with athletes in Arizona along with training with her husband of nearly twenty years. The 2010 Jacksonville Pro will be her fourth time on the pro stage with the 2010 Pittsburgh Pro 13th placing being her best to date.

Congratulations to all the ladies and the victors.
I'm sticking with my picks for the top spots being David Henry winning the 202 and two ladies making their first pro wins Jamie Baird in Bikini & Gennifer Strobo in figure. I've enjoyed working with both of these ladies doing their websites and such in the past. Two great Olympia contenders :yep:
