I was in the masters 40 at the Dexter Jackson as well and they have my contest pics up here. I was a month out in these pics and I came in @ 198lbs at 5'6". I am back up to 220 now. What besides condition do I need to bring up tho place better next year in the over 50. I feel that my legs are my weakness. What do you think?
Training split
Mon chest
Tues back
wed shoulders
Thurs arms
Fri legs.
Sat and sun off

You hit it right on the head with conditioning. It would benefit you to try to increase your back width and thickness, this will help your waist look smaller. If you are 49 u look great.

low back hams and glutes are tougher on the older guys.

I know I have to find the right combination of diet and cardio. My knees are 70 years old lol. I did two a day cardio on the bike for this competition and my carbs were less than 50 perday for the last 4 weeks.
