Alright everyone.

This is my 5 day training split for the past two weeks

Monday: Quads & abbs
Tuesday: Chest
Wednesday: Back
Thursday: Shoulders & calves
Friday: Bi's n Tri's
Saturday: off
Sunday: off

Would I be better off sticking to a four day split or is this just fine as far as recovery is concerned?

I would do a 4 day split. If you rather do the 5 i would take a day off in between. Like 3 on 1 off 2 on 1 off or visa versa

I do 2 on 1 off 3 on 1 off.

Mon- Chest w/ light tri's
Tues- Back w/ light bi's
Wed- OFF- i like to rest here bc i hit back pretty hard and want to have enough energy to hit legs just as hard
Thurs- Legs
Fri- Bis/Tris
Saturday- Shoulders
Sunday- OFF

Ill do abs twice a week usually, not always the same days.

Here's my 5 day split (http://www.revampedlifestyle.com/Weight-Training/5-Day-Split.html).

I've been using it for over year year now with slight variations. It's dead simple and gets the job done.

As far as R&R, with the five day split, each body part gets a week to recover unless it's being used as a stabilizer in other exercises.

Here's my current:

Day 1 - Press, triceps
Day 2 - Row, biceps
Day 3 - OFF
Day 4 - Squat
Day 5 - OFF

Repeat. Works well.

i think if this split works for you then you should do it man. not everyone has to train the same or the same splits. my split actually looks similar to yours. and i've been doing it for a long time now. i work out mon-fri then rest the weekends and it's worked well for me i might add. so if that split works for you, keep at it and hit it hard.
