when looking for a tire check the tire number...there are some sites that will give you the weights. don't be fooled by similar numbers though. idf the tire has an R in the number it is radial and will be heavier, Example 26.5R/ 25 versus 26.5/25. also pay attention to ply....20 ply tires and 28 ply tires even though the sam size can be 600lbs different.

it takes a little time but i always google the brand and tire numbers to try and find exact weight.

I got a master goodyear catalog link that gives exact weights. I'll find and post.

Their are plenty of old tractor tyres at my local dump. I've been meaning to pick one or two up and add them to my gym.

toward the back, around page 150 they list all tires, an "R" means radial and "-" means bias

If your using worn tyres wouldn't the weight be considerably less? I assume the average strongman/woman dosn't go and spent their cash on a new tyre to flip

depends on the tire. I got two tires from a tire place for free, both look fine, I am not sure why they are considered junk cause they have good tread but yeah, that is a good point, my 633lbs I bet is more like 600 even. My 928, well, it is just f'n heavy regardless how much weight it lost.

I have a few other tire videos but this was in a comp. I am pretty slow between flips which kills my time. I need to be more "aggressive"... That is where I have trouble in strongman. In PLing you have a minute to breath, set up, etc. Just different animals.

I do like the tire flip though. I've used it for cardio a few times as well. Lots of volume with the tire seems to help add some thickness as well (IMO).

700. It was also going UP a slight incline which makes it a bit more difficult.
Tire flips are rough but I will admit, they do make you feel kinda badass :)

i did.... after the flip at the top Joe just stood there. as the tire is coming down you have to drop down and prepare to grab the tire for the next flip.

Robert, I don't know what you mean, he was moving! If you freeze frame at the :34 second mark, you can actually catch him eating a donut between flips. LOL tjoe you are a heck of a lot quicker than I am. Here is a video of me out for a walk, with a bit of tire flipping from the Jakked Powercorp. Tires were all light with maybe one being 500. fingers were pretty light too.
