I was going through some posts here and people seem to be eating an obscene amount of food! I'm not better myself. Anyway, so how much do you spend on food in your quest for that buff bod?

I operate in £££, but my food bill is around £70 ($100) a week and that include 25 breasts (get 'em cheap from butcher), 5 cans of tuna (can't stand it, but force it down), 1kg of oats, 1kg of potatoes, brown rice, a lot of milk, and then others bits and pieces. All and all, not too bad. I don't smoke nor touch alcohol, so I get away living far more cheap than most of my unhealthy friends.

To feed just me, $90 a week. The hubby who does not eat like I do, is on his own. Typical grocery purchase looks like this.

6 packages of cucumbers, 6 packages of celery hearts, bag of romaine hearts, 6 packs of chiken breasts, 1 pack of either steak or salmon filets, 6 cans of salt-free salmon, any spices and such that I use while cooking.

Anywhere from $80 - $100 a week, depending on how fancy I get. When I go for taste it tends to be more expensive, but when I'm just throwing back plain ass chicken breasts and rice it's pretty cheap.

I like to get my food every day. As of now I get

OMEGA-3 eggs the extra large ones I'll get two dozen of that, a bottle V8 Fusion drink so I can get some of the veggies that I really don't eat much of,
Chicken Tenderloin get like as close to 2lbs as I can then I'll get like 3-4 yams. Once a week I buy a thing of grits or whole oats and a big bottle of some Fish Oil.

Comes to like 15-20 dollars a day depending where I go and what's sale.

I spend 60cdn on chicken breast alone. (10lbs) other than that I just tell my wife what I need at the grocery store, so im not really sure how much the other stuff is. Atleast 100 total a week.

Hard to tell, grocery is the wifes job. I go along and help, but when its checkout time, I'm pretty zoned out and ready to leave. She isn't saying I'm fat, so it must be under 300. :)

Man up, do your own bodybuilding shopping!! :p Me and the missus share absolutely everything, but when it comes to food and food shopping, she's on her own. :D

My wife and I both are avid bodybuilders. We have two boys(10 and 7). We spend 1k a month on food, additional 400 on supps. Boys eat pared down versions of my meals. Wife currently doing Velocity diet from Biotest/t-nation. I rotate carbs. Boys do have some junk in their diets(ice cream, cookies, etc.)but 98% food budget is very clean.

V8 fusion is crap, it by no means comes even close to replacing or even making up for, real veggies.

I do not keep track of what I spend on food.

I spend about 100 a week. I buy 14 chicken breasts at about 30 bucks, 14 pieces of fish at about 20 bucks, 5lbs of whey at 50 bucks, salad at around 5 dollars, and peanut butter, and cashews, but I don't have to buy those every week. I'm on Dave's contest diet. In the offseason I would say it would be around 130-140 a week.

My grocery bill per month is always just under 400 (chicken, omega-3 eggs, either sirloin or round steak, veggies, sweet potatoes, hot sause/condiments, some fruit, oatmeal, PB, and almonds)... that would also be cleaning stuff & shower stuff like shaving razors/cream

Supplements are additional though, which is usually about 400 every 2 months (Protein powder, joint supplment, omegalyze, multi, some creatine, mac nut oil, and my NO-XPLODE)

You sound pretty much like us except we only have one five year old daughter. I have given up on looking how much everything costs. If we need it we get it. I do a lot of internet ordering for speciality items that we cant get in the country. I cant even imagine what it would be like to shop for a non-bodybuilding family. What do they eat? :p
