Ok,

If you e-know me, then you know that I recently quit the competitive side of bodybuilding and decided to start just leisurely training and stay in good shape. I decided this about 2 months ago, and I was purposely not training my legs as hard so I could fit into normal jeans once again. I was also not eating as much, so I lost some size, but I was fine with it. I was weighing about 195 when I decided to stop competing, and now I'm about 194, but my composition has changed. It's going to take me a while to get my size back, but it won't take too long once I get back into the grove of eating 7-8 times a day and training hard again.

Why did I stop in the first place? It's simple. I was purging my life of anything that could possibly have a negative impact on my relationship with the woman that I planned on marrying one day. I figured that if I did wind up getting a pro card in the natural ranks, it could have been a big strain on my relationship. I'm not a very selfish person, but I am an extremely competitive person, and I'll do anything in my power to bring the best package to the stage. That means missing out on a lot of things, and I didn't want to put her through that. It was a decision that was 100% my choice, and she even advised against it and encouraged me to keep competing, because she knew how much I loved it.

Why am I back? You can probably figure that out on your own, but if not, here it is. We are no longer together. Our lives and careers are simply taking us in different directions. She wasn't ready for a commitment, and I was. I also have baggage that she isn't ready to deal with since I have a daughter with an ex-wife. She gave it a shot, and decided that wasn't what she wanted, and I don't regret any of the 22 months that we were together.

Ok, so that's that. I'm back, and I'm ready to take a shot at this thing. Also, I will not be giving up bodybuilding for a woman again. That was an ignorant mistake on my part that would have just led to resentment later on down the road. Live and learn.

Sorry to hear about you and the lady bro...I know how much she means to you. But as long as you guys parted on good terms, that's great for any future possibilities. She's younger than you, right? You never know...one day you may end up together again.

I learned the same lesson as you as far as giving things up for a woman. I will never give up anything I'm passionate about for a woman or anyone for that matter. We don't even need to go into why. You know me well enough to understand where I'm coming from!

I'm glad you've decided to get back into the groove though man. Like I told you the other day, you have some awesome genetics, and I know I definitely wanna see you reach your full potential.

Monday- Legs

I trained legs with a buddy today, and he hadn't trained them in months, so I held back a little. It was probably a good thing, because I haven't trained legs hard in a couple months myself.

SLDL 135X10 185X10 225X8 275X8 295X8
Squats 135X8 225X8 315X8 345X8
Lying 1 leg curl 60x8/8
1 Leg press 270x8/6
kneeling leg curl drop set 130x5 105x6 70x8
adductors 200x12/8
abductors 200x15/15
leg extension drop set 290x10 250x10 210x10 170x10

My back tenderloins are pretty sore from the SLDL, so I'll more than likely do shoulders and chest tomorrow.

Yeah, parting on good terms is good for future maybes, but it's the hardest thing that I've ever done. When i got divorced, it was easy, because she betrayed me, and i resented her so much for it that it was easy. Kristin is only 24, so she still has to figure some things out. Basically, she isn't ready to fully grow up yet, and I respect that; we all have to take our time.

Speaking of genetics, my waist is only a 32 right now lol. I was surprised when I measured it the other day. My buddy swore it was low like that, but I thought it was like a 34. That's good news.

I wish I could say I've parted on good terms w/ any of my exes, but it just wasn't possible considering what they did to me. It was easy to be a jerk. From what I know, you had a really awesome woman though...a rarity for sure. But right now, the focus is on you bro. So do it up!

First of all...major PROS on your outlook in this situation. You already said it: EVERYTHING happens for a reason. We live and learn, and I think it's pretty cool that you realized you won't sacrifice something YOU love to do for another WOMAN ever again. You shouldn't have to. She should accept you for who you are and if BB is part of who you are than she can either accept it or miss out on what you have to offer. Anyways, thanks for being so open and Good Luck on the COMEBACK:)

now........do you always do this high volume?

Thanks. For the record, it was 100% my decision, and she actually advised against it. She's a good girl, and she'll make someone very happy one of these days.

I don't usually train 2 body-parts at the same time, but I am focusing on my legs once again, and also my arms. I am training them every 4th day, and doing arms the same way, so I am combining either chest and shoulders or shoulders and back on that day in-between the leg and arm days. My back responds very well, and is my best body-part, and I have good genetics for my chest, so doing them not-so-often shouldn't be a problem. I am going to hit my shoulders every training cycle as well, because my caps could use some extra work. I'm not going to have a full on shoulder day when I combine it for back, just mid some mid delt work thrown in there. I'm sure that I'll have to adjust it as time goes, but this is the plan for now. Oh, and I'm eating 8-9 times a freakin day; my metabolism is raging!

I learned. I used to use them back when I thought I had to have whatever I wanted. My x-wife ran up a lot of credit card debt that I have recently paid off, along with my car, so I am now happy to be debt free. They might have helped me build up my credit somewhat, so it wasn't all for nothing. I was never late on anything, so that helped me achieve my excellent credit score. I was thinking about buying a house recently, and was pre-approved for a $300,000 loan. What the heck am I supposed to do with a house that costs that much? I'm glad I'm not an idiot, because that could have gotten me into trouble. I guess good credit can be a double edged sword if you allow it to be.

Your car payments and rent payments should have your credit looking good. Have you ever ran a credit check? I also like to have money in the bank and use my best buy card for purchases. With the zero interest, it's just like paying cash, and if you make big payments with that money, then it looks great on your credit when you pay it off early. I like those 0% in-store credit cards; they are set up to get you if you miss payments, but you can exploit them and build your credit easily.

If she isn't self employed, then that is sad. I hate how corporations expect their employees to front costs and then pay them back. Why they don't give them per diem up front and empower them to responsibility is beyond me. In the Air Force, we are issued travel cards, and we use those when we travel for any expenses that we encounter. We file our vouchers and the cards are paid for. I just don't understand why companies can't issue their employees travel cards and do the same.

That is so pathetic. They will argue that you cannot trust everyone with the cards. Here's a solution, with our cards, it is monitored. When we make a purchase and we aren't traveling, then we have to answer for it. People get reprimanded and even lose stripes when this happens. Also, there are certain kinds of stores that our cards get rejected at, so it can basically only be used for food, gas, hotels, and flights. The military doesn't get much right, but they nailed this one.

Didn't rest much between sets, around 90 seconds if I'd have to guess. I took a little longer for the lunges and fronts, because i had to catch my breath. I'm sure that I'll be in better cardiovascular shape the longer that I do this. I can't wait to do my same weights with little rest; it will eventually come.

I'm torn. I don't know if I should compete this November. There is a show that I want to do in June of next year, because it's close to home. If I compete in November, then I won't have much time to make improvements before I have to compete again. I'll just play it by ear and make the decision in July since it's around that 20 week mark.

Saturday- Back/light shoulders 1650-1750

Had a good workout today after coaching some baseball. We played a really good team in a jamboree and only lost 5-2. That's great news for us considering our division is pretty weak. Head coach said we should do really well this year. I wish those kids would play ball year around instead of just during the school year, because some of them really have good potential, but they lose some skills when they sit out so long. Here's the workout:

underhand barbell row 135x12 225x10 255x8/8/8
wide pulldowns 225x8/7/7
wide grip t-bar row 180x8/7/6
medium grip pulldowns 210x8/7 195x7
rack deads 545x8/8/7
DB Pullovers 100x6 90x8/6
cable upright row 190x8/8/7
bent DB lateral raise 40x8/7/6
Machine lateral raise 150x8/8/7

27 sets in an hour; I was moving pretty fast with the exception of the rack deads. I took about 2 min rest between sets for those to avoid injuring myself.

Anyways glad to have you back.

Far as bringing up arms, here is what I am doing in a nutshell and it is working so good.

I'm doing chest/back together for a set of 15 sets total for chest, and then 15 for back. I go back and fourth with chest and back. So do one set of chest, and then back. Typically three different exercises

And well Arms of course, I do bi and tri together as well.
But again I do 1 set of bi, and then 1 set of tri and keep going back and fourth.

Arnold trained the same way and his arms were just amazing. It's a hard way to train, but it gets you in shape at the same time.

We split up right after I got back from the desert, but I didn't post it on facebook. Like I said, life happens. I started dating a pretty awesome girl last week that I met at church.

I am trying PJs philosophy right now for bringing up my arms. I hit them by themselves, alternating bi and tri, and then I do a few exercises for tris on back day and a few exercises for bis on chest day. I'll give it a while longer to see how it works.

Is it difficult meeting girls having a child and all?

I wouldn't know, because my daughter lives with her mom. Part of the reason that my last relationship ended was due to the fact that I had a child, but I didn't have a problem meeting my x.
Crystal, the girl that I just started dating, has an 8 year old herself. I don't think that having a child means that you can't meet people, it just narrows your options for obvious reasons.

Thanks, Paul. I am thinking about that show in Ft Lauderdale. My training partner wants to start competing, so we might be planning on a September show in Deluth, GA. I figure that would get my feet wet once again. I'm not sure how I'll do, but I'll do my best. I'm having a hard time putting weight back on, but the weight that I am adding is solid, so that's great. I'm up 8 lbs in about as many weeks with my waist only going up a half inch during that time. The NGA is pretty vague, but others are not. I was on a few websites, and superdrol is banned in their orgs, and super DMZ has it in there. In the NGA, they say go by the WADA list, but they also say that hormone precursors are allowed as long as the T:E ratio is 6:1, I believe. I'll just not use it to be on the safe side.

Tuesday- Legs

Killed it in there today, and I have a game in about 45 min; no triples tonight lol.

Squats 135x15 225x10 315x15/15/12/9
Barbell lunges 135x15/12/12/10
V-Squat 320x15/11 270x15/12
SS1 1 leg press 180x15/15/15/12
SS1 kneeling leg curl 70x15/15/15/10
SS2 leg extension 290x15/13 250x12/12
SS2 seated leg curl 210x8 170x13/11/9

28 working sets of pure hell on earth. I was done after the second set of the lunges; the high reps really tore me up. Thanks, Rich!

I was definitely dialed in, but my lower back took a beating with those squats. I need to lay off of them for a few weeks since I've done them basically e4d for a month now. I went 4-5 tonight with a dinger and 3 singles, and I played center by myself since we only had freaking 9 players! Legs didn't hinder me, and we won 14-10. Lol @ beating a team with only 9 in slow pitch softball.

Don't they tax y'all very high up there? That's a big reason the USA is the USA; they were tired of the government being too involved in everything and taxing people out the wazoo, so they gained their independence and were founded on small government. I don't really care what the gas prices are around the globe; the USA is not a socialist society that regulates everything to "make it fair", no offense to you.

Behind neck press 115x15 135x12 155x8/7/6
1 arm db press 75x8/6/6
upright row 165x8/7/6

Yeah, pretty much. Today I stayed with the 6-8 rep range for the most part. I was doing a thing where I start with a weight I can get 8 with and go until I can only do 6, which is usually 4 sets; I only go 4 sets regardless. I like doing that, but today I had to hurry.
