By that i mean putting the axle on the belt rather than the belly.

I'm having a hard time putting it on my belly, it easily slips down on the belt when i try.
When it does, I have only a tiny fold of skin/fat separating the axle and the belt. Any pointers?

do some cleans, putting it on your belt is just lazy, and shows you don't have the strength to actually clean it.

if you have to continental it, it happens sometimes, at least get it to your chest, and let it stay in the crook between your chest and your belly.

yup not legal...

one advantage of having a gut, haha! clean pulls from the hang will help get it higher.
you might also want to try doing a regular clean.

I always train regular cleans, on a good thay I can clean that. But I can obviously handle more weight by trying the continental way. This is the second time i tried doing the continental

when you pull it off the floor you need to get it up to your sternum area while pushing your "gut" out as far as possible. With the gut pushed out it will give you a place to rest the bar for that split second before popping it to the shoulders.

If you put chalk on your sternum area it won't slip as much and do what Ryan said
