No it says what happened. Raw is raw, geared is geared. At the elite level both require great strength, I really don't get why that is so hard for people to understand.

No disagreements that you still have to be strong but when you can add a shirt and double your bench it sort of takes something away from it. I still want to know his raw numbers

I dont think some people realize there is more to the shirt than just putting it on and increasing the numbers. You have the learn the shirt, it would be for you AND against you

Updated Raw Bench. Im a geared lifter and really dont push my raw because of the grooves, a shirt and raw groove is so different between each other. I think with a little time and more raw work I could do more then #455. But this was Sunday. #226lbs body-weight.

those are the same people that play flag football their whole life because they dont want to wear football gear. That overkill shirt is sweet. I got one and it almost blew my face off. It took too much to touch! Good lift man.

Thanks guys, and the OverKill shirt is the best. Rob Luyando was the guy who turned me onto the shirt and after meeting Rudy Rosales "owner" I just had to have one and in about a year time my bench was up a 100lbs. Best investment you can make cause I have had the same shirt the whole time and I still hit Pr's in it. If you can handle the pain thresh hold watch out cause you will love the carry over! Hopefully more meet #'s will fall coming up. Thanks for the comments!

I will be competing in the APF/AAPF Detroit Barbell 3 in 1 meet in the 242 class this Saturday. I should weigh around low 230's for weigh in I'm 243 now so I plan on fasting and losing over 8 pounds tonight before weigh ins. I will open 716 or lighter and might use 2 shirts. so I just want to stay healthy and take some shirt time off to build more lockout strength after this meet. Have 2 really big WPC World sanctioned meets next year so I wanna be recovered, rested, an ready to break the WPC Bench only 220lb open class record.

made the weight but missed 716,727,an 738 for the record. Just wasnt my day. The gym was very hot and humid had to switch shirts between lifts so I never do that and wont again. I'm going to get my shirts altered because of the increase weight. But Im very happy my training partner at 56 yrs young hit 617 for a best lifter and won the cash in the bench only. So it was a good day just not my day!

#525 Bench Press

1st time benching in the new Maddog SlingShot. I really like using the slingshot to help warm up before putting on the bench shirt or just to mimic the shirt by its great design to stretch across the chest like a shirt cause you stay in the same groove as your shirt. And a lot less pain in the shoulder an elbows

#465 x 2 reps, missed the third and this is after numerous sets of triples.

Young man 20yr old just who has been showing some heart and really training hard. Sam Braun. He drives down with Darilyn Doddy from Bay City to train with Triple X Powerlifting at a local fitness center that was once a powerhouse. Darilyn has scared away a ton of lifters cause she warms up to around 200lb raw then shirts up and presses over 500lb in a Overkill bench shirt So Sam has been hitting some serious numbers for reps and for a 20yr old who works full time and chooses to train at 10am every Sunday and not go out with his friends and have fun, he is eager to start every Sunday. But no matter what. and that means no matter what. you don't show or tell someone your not showing Bob will let you know and he is your hand off guy, training partner and handler, so you wanna keep Bob on your good gracious. Look for more of Sam in the future he also is a full lifter So I will get some meet video of him this coming 2012 year.

The amount these shirts can add to the bench is astounding. Jeff, do you find that your joints, esp in the elbow area, become sore/inflamed due to the heavy lockouts associated with the shirt training? You are obviously very strong RAW but lock outs with 460 is alot different than 800+. Also, I notice you definitely use alot of Lats in the bench.....what assistance exercises do you do for them? I am just getting back to barbell benching after taking a year off due to arthritis in the shoulders (I still trained...light with Dbells) and am thinking about competing but in Raw Tested meets. I competed in bench Meets in the 90's but that was a different time.

I touched in my shirt over ten times and feel great about this training cycle. I didnt Pr but my lifts look great and I wanna build on my technique and worry about staying healthy. #800 will come 220/242 class I believe. I don't see my self getting to the #275lb class.
I went 672,699 710 miss. I also competed Raw earlier that day. I went 3 for 3 396,418,440. which was a new APF Mi State Sub master state record.

Im very happy that I can say i was apart of something special and this meet was it. Some of the best benchers in the world battling round after round 25lb jumps for light weight and 50lb jumps for the heavyweights. It was a war and how much could you take after numerous loads being on your muscles and body time after time. Thank "God" literally! I was able to tie for 1st at the end with a great friend and competitor Tim Hensley. Tim weighed less and took home some $$ plus donated $100 of his winnings to a charity that HW winner Vinny Dizenzo chose and also donated his winnings i believe was around $500 or more. And that in a sense was the great thing and positive note for the sport of Powerlifting. Powerlifting to me is a family thing. No one in the world cares but your family cause know one knows what powerlifting is or what we really do. That much weight that in one instance can decapitate you in a missed attempt that doesnt go right. People are sick of seeing big bench bomb out shows also but I think this will be the contest that brings multi ply lifting to the place it belongs in the Arnold. That meet was a very challenging with the time restraint we had to get threw competing in 2hr or less. You had to do all the reps in a short period of time. It beat you up!

Looking fiorward to posting some training in my shirt to show ppl u can touch light weight and heavy same shirt just by the play in your neck scoop. Planning to compete in a meet at Detroit Barbell the 25th so I will post probably 2 videos I hope if I have enough ppl there. Semi finals Lexen qualifier for the XPC Arnold is Oct 27-28th in CBus OH. I will be in the Bench Bash on the 26th. And I believe it will be another last man Standing contest.

LMS 2 was a great time with some great lifters. Rob Luyando, Jay Fry, Joe Mazza. Also Jeff McVicar was there to help out with lift offs, coaching and really helping all of us hit some huge numbers, and cracking us up all day. Jeff is one of the funniest guys you will ever meet. and best benchers of all time. All my attempts in a over 3yr old Overkill Shirt. Going to dial in another shirt a little tighter for the 700+ benches. Missed 700 twice to be eliminated. I took 2nd place and will be getting ready for the Olympia next. Sept 28-29.

Bench is impressive but i've read those shirts can bump your bench up 75lbs and up. Don't now personally, never tried. I guess the people wearing the shirt would know. And as far as "all time teen bench press" i am pretty sure Eddie Robinson still holds the record at 585lbs when he was 19 years old.

Relentless Detroit. Lifting for Austin.

This was the best meet I did all year. Detroit Barbell and member Tommy Westhoff got together with Kirby Church in Flat Rock Mi to hold a meet to raise money for a family that has a 9yr old little boy with a cancerous brain tumor. This meet had some of the best lifters in the world you can check it all out on facebook at http://www.facebook.com/groups/389803347751423/
This is my video from the meet. I hit 675,miss700, then hit 710@238. I didn't make the weight cut to 220 because I just did WPC Worlds and I felt I needed the extra weight to keep me from getting injured. I had Lg Sciences, HOPs Rick Brewer, Total Fitness Center my home gym in Howell Mi donate pound for pound and friends and family.
This was the best atmosphere and venue yet. tons of stuff for the whole family. great stage lighting and platform. Detroit Barbell did it up. great warmup room. you couldn't ask for a better meet. plus all the family from the church screaming cheering you on it was amazing. If you get a chance you should compete or go check out a Relentless meet.

I'm going to be using a brand new custom made triple ply shirt by Rudy Rosales from Overkill. I feel very confident that I will hit over 800 in this shirt. I believe the Overkill 3ply is a far superior shirt then the Metal Ace "Jacked" and the "SDP" super duper phenom by Inzer. The stoping power and pop out of the hole is amazing. I have been using the new triple and hit a 825 off a 2brd and smoked it just missed 860.

Well after my bench shirt break in with a new Overkill shirt I'm going to enter the APF Great Lakes Open in Grand Rapids Mi to compete to break the Open Mi 242lb class state bench press record. The record is 735. I just hit 738 at the APF meet in IL Dec. I'm wearing a new shirt and hoping to open around 735-745. I hit 745 pretty easy but still need to get to a half brd then I can make a better judged opener. 750 is the goal and 12lb PR. But if everything is feeling good 775 could be a my 3rd or 4th attempt. can take a fourth because if I hit the 3rd which will be a record and your allowed a 4th on a record in the APF/AAPF.

Im using the new LG Sciences Platinum Andro Series with other supp's. I really like the liquid better then capsules and tablets. I like having liquids to having all powders for pre workouts also. EPIC pre workout is a glycerol based pre liquid and is fast acting. everything I want, creatine, citrulline, beta alanine, synephrine, caffeine. Dark Matter post workout and Blox Silks during training, Hydro Isolate is the only protein post and Probolic during the day or at night. GNC Ultra Mega Green Sport Multi, Krill Oil, Nordic Sport Omegas. I take a lot of supplements yes but powerlifting is a very crueling and taxing sport on you entire body and CNS. I believe they are worth it and i will continue to take them and others, I try all the different supplements out pretty much if I can afford them. Sometimes also if I cant! lol Just don't let the wife find out!

Bicep is about 60-70% I'm using Motrin at night with Cellucor R3 supplement. I just got some USPLabs products with the all new Versa1 from my good friend and USP rep Dean Tulio. Dean is a very knowledgeable guy and is as strong as they come also. He lifts raw in powerlifting and just did a 600lb bench in a red slingshot! at about 220ish. He hooked me up with the new Test Powder,Prime,Versa1 and LG Sciences my sponsor just hooked me up with the new Epi Andro which I'm very excited about and 35-AI for anti estro PCT. 2013 XPC Pro Bench Bash Arnold Classic WR #722@220 3rd attempt. 3 for 3 1st place 220lb class

Overkill Shirt custom made by Rudy Rosales. If you wanna break PRs you need to try Rudys shirts. I have used the same shirt to bench #550-#738 in the 220-242 class. 2ply shirt. 585-655 in his single ply shirt. Overkill is the best shirt in the World right now.

Triple X Powerlifting Been training with them since 2008. Had some time at Detroit Barbell when I got hurt. I hurt my bicep tendon and lower inner bicep plus my delt. I could barely bench the bar Jan. So I'm very fortunate that I was able to compete let alone win. I used the Sling Shot a ton during my training and didn't go over 365 raw full range then I would work reps with the Sling Shot and Dec I was doing 405 for 5 reps and 425 for 2 455 for 1 in all my heavy workouts till my shirt, So with the sling shot I would do reps starting at 405x3 455x2 475x1 495x1 then shirt up. Friday the week before the meet i missed full range attempts of 655 and 675 numerous times. I was cutting weight and my shirt wasn't fitting right. I cut from a diet wrote by top Bodybuilder Justin Fargo from Flint Barbell. I train with his brother who is a 181-198 bench press competitor who is using a Overkill Shirt now. So I was pretty confident when I gained the water weight I lost I would be fine opening around 670s safely. I dieted for 2 weeks very hard to lose all the water. I felt grea on the diet and will continue to keep it up so I can gain weight slowly into the 250s.

Picked up a new Sponsor which has been a dream of mine since I was a teenager. MHP is a blessing for me. Joe Mazza, Rob Luyando, Chris Della Fave, and Ketron Bailey who has been a great friend and I'm grateful Rob Luyando introduced us. We had a blast in Vegas for the Olympia and been staying in touch all the time. Steve Downs for giving me a chance to be a athlete with MHP and most of all the Big Man Gerard Dente. He has developed some of the most innovative supplements the world has ever seen and now with Myo-X, Myo Statin inhibitors that's the future of supplementation. I will continue product education with MHP for Vitamin Shoppe and GNC. I look forward to seeing people at VS and GNC demos in the future.

Most of all Brian King of The Williamston Barbell Club in Williamston Mi. He was my sponsor for the meet while he has been working on the WBC night and day to get the club together, He bought personalized t shirts that Dennis Reneau designed for me. He paid for my entry gave me cash to pay for a hotel gas and was there to support me at the meet. I couldn't be any luckier of a lifter to have such great sponsors. I have been competing for 17yrs and I wouldn't change it for the World. Looking forward to training young athletes at WBC and my two sons. Living a dream and yes it took 17yrs but after all the hard work it came true. STAY TRUE TO YOU AND YOUR DREAMS

Had a one of the emotional and greatest time of my life. I took my 10yr old son 10hrs to Min and competed in one of the best meets of all time Relentless 2013. I competed in Detroit Nov 12 and was honored and loved it. This one was awesome. I was able to compete on the platform with some of the best in the World. Rob Luyando Jake Prazek James Burdett Eric DeCaires Tommy Westhoff and full meet lifters "Freak Show" Marshall Johnson, Scott "Hoss" Cartwright, Justin Graalfs, Barzeen Vasari, JJ Thomas, Theresa Janc, Pamla Bosco, Beth Thomas. There were a bunch of 1000lb squats Jake Prazek just missed 925 in the bench for the all time 242 record James Burdett hit 716 at 220 and Tommy Westhoff is on the come back after a tricep tear at last years Arnold 2012. Tommy hit 631 and 650 at 229. Tom Waldrep hit 705@220 single ply Chris Neal 565 at 198 single ply. I hit 727@242 biggest bench in the bench only. my opener was 688 good attempt, 716 lockout 2 red lights no good, then went 727 3rd and good attempt. The video is 727 but I also heard they didn't count the collars which is another 2lb so 729 lift. Still beat up dealing with right delt lower bicep issues and a left elbow inflammation that has been a little scary. But seems to be arthritis or something of that sort. Havent lost any strength in that elbow but I just pray I don't tear the tricep or hurt myself major. Looking forward to APF/AAPF Master Nationals May Detroit. Compete at home instead of Senior Nationals in Louisiana. I would like to do Detroit Bench for Cash Cobo Arena June and July 20 WPC Can /Am. The Mr Olympia USPA single ply. Then Relentles Detroit 2013 Nov

Relentless is an amazing cause. It's raised so much money and is bringing light to PL again in a positive manner. The Nutter's are amazing for creating it.

I love the Nutters! They are amazing. I really love that Powerlifting is starting to get some public exposure in a positive. I hear that powerlifters being rude. fat out of shape, cult sport, and all that other BS I hear on different forums. Powerlifters are some of the most dedicated family oriented people you will ever meet. If you dont think so Relentless and a local powerlifting meet will show you that.

Back to training today will be rep work on bench incline fly's more of a bodybuilding day. I did a speed deadlift and back day the other day. I was pretty sore from the volume I did 30 sets of back. Bodyweight is 237 at night 233 in the morning. Next meet will be the USPA Single ply meet in Eaton at Chris "Smitty" Smiths gym Eaton barbell May 4th. Hoping to improve on my single ply numbers. I hit 618 missed 674 at the Olympia so Im going to open around 635ish then 655ish then see from there. Looking forward to compete with my friend Joe Smolinski 57 yr old beast in the bench 635 multi ply @242 and looking to break records in single ply now. Plus my friends from Flint Barbell Joe an Justin Fargo. Justin was a top NPC bodybuilder that worked with Dave Palumbo with Species. He is now converting to powerlifting. he is close to a 600@220 bench press. Joe his brother is a 600+ single ply at 181/198lb class he will hit 700 multi ply soon. Im working with both and Joe has hit some huge PRs since working with Rudy Rosales and I with Overkill. Marvin Coleman is looking to hit 700 in single ply 220 so he is due for a big number soon. Also Flint has some huge raw lifters 465@220 and 475-485@242 guys and a 520+ guy also in 308 I believe. Looking forward to some time doing rep and rehab work I call it since I don't wanna push my raw up to high with these elbow issues. wanna heal the best I can to compete a bunch this year.

Tendinitis from competing so much. I compete more then anyone doing bench only. I have done 13 meets in 14 months. And I have done this since 2008. So I have competed since 97 and I did 25 meets by 2008. That's my biggest achievement. I have only bombed 5 times ever. And that makes me feel like I have been a technician when I bench press. I might not be the strongest but I will be one of the best on the platform if not the best! 20yrs I have trained and trained heavy non stop. God blessed me with a gift and I have lived it as my life!

Well I've been very lucky to be healthy enough to be able to compete in so many meets. I set a plan to do the best meets and to place without bombing. 15 meets in a year in a half and only 1 bomb. I'm very proud of that. I won the WPC Can/Am Sub master WR, 1st at WPC Worlds, 2nd at The Mr Olympia USPA meet in my first single ply meet. Top 2 and 1 tied for 1st in all 3 of the XPC qualifier RPS Pro Bench Last Man Standing. Hit two huge benched at Relentless and raise a bunch of money for some family's who deserved every penny! Those people taught me about what a strong parent does for there child when you cant do anything but have HOPE! But winning my class and hitting 3 for 3 with the biggest lwt bench 722@220 at the XPC Arnold Classic with my gf and son was the best of them all. Ive accomplished everything I put my mind too. My biggest dream came true to be a MHPStrong athlete. 20 years of training never taking time off training every week in my bench shirt non stop 700-800 benches every weekend for over 5yrs straight. Im the luckiest guy alive I feel. if you stay healthy and train smart and consitenet you can accomp-lish anything you put your heart into. I've done over 75 meets in 14 years of competitive powerlifting. anyone can do it. 6ft 150lbs when I started 165lb class first meet. 97 USAPL Bench meet in Three Rivers Indiana. Believe in yourself be consistent!

Been a while I'm very happy to announce I will be competing in the USPA Bench & Deadlift Invitational at this years MR Olympia. I'm dropping weight to get to #220. I will receive my new custom single ply closed back bench shirt from Rudy Rosales of Overkillstrength.com. My MHP Olympia Stack is here thanks to MHP! And I will be training at Total Fitness Center in Howell Mi on Sundays with Triple X Powerlifting.

135x10
225x5
315x15

well worked up to 515 for a double then 585 for one and felt the same pain I had from before in Dec when i hurt my bicep from a 810 one board so I will have to see a specialist and see if i need surgery or not. Sad to say i will have to pull out of the Mr Olympia and my favorite uncle I grew up with is going threw a series of chemo/radiation treatments :-( When it rains it pours. Im very thankful I didnt tear anything most likely some tendonitis or something of that sort. That means more squats and deadlifts and no more cutting to 220! :-)

Been MIA for a while. Been training full power raw and did my first two Raw full power meets this year since 2012. One in the USPA which i hit 485,425,541 with out wraps then two months later I competed in the APF Senior Nationals. APF is raw no wraps or sleeves. Squat 525 Bench 435 Deadlift 551. which I was very happy because I've been battling a shoulder injury and popped my hamstring. But I wasn't going to miss this chance to compete in WPC Worlds in Florida this year in West Palm Florida
