is a 455 lb dead lift for a single considered a decent
amount of weight for an average gym rat? (my friend)

is a 600lb single with an over hand grip using straps
considered strong for a 190lb guy thats not a power lifter. (me)

just trying to get an idea what the average gym rat
can deadlift or whats considered strong.

not many guys dead lift at my gym. I can pull the 600 mentioned above.
is that a decent dead lift?

thanks.

I'd tip my hat to you. I'm about 230 right now and just finally hit 405. I got it for 4. at 190, 600lb is over 3x your weight...i would think you would be hard-pressed to find anyone say that you're "weak". Good work

In relation to regular gym rats, yes very good. And you dont find many doing deads these days. Too hard!

Lol, "they make me sweat and fart sometimes"...i started deadlifting about 1 1/2 years ago, i always shied away from them but since i've started doing them i love it. I either start back day them or finish back day with rack pulls.

if you have worked up to your max from a lesser max then its a very respectable lift regardless of what type of lifter you consider yourself.
