View Full Version : What's Your Idea of a "Perfect Physique"

KevinCouch
04-13-2011, 01:10 PM
Ok. We've talked a lot about this on this forum. Now it's time to share with us what your idea of a perfect physique is. One YOU aspire to have. Men and women please respond. We all have our own opinions about what we vision to be the ultimate physique and there are NO right or wrong answers here.

Feel free to post pics of bodybuilders of the past and present.

Pic on right is apparently after he began dosing with larger amount of AAS. Not as classic any more....IMO, he looked a lot better on the left.

My all time favorite physiques with massive muscle round muscle bellies and symetrical bodies are in no particular order:

Phil Heath: a couple of years ago now he's a monster.
Kevin Levrone
Flex Wheeler
Lee Labrada
Shawn Ray
Francis Benfatti
Eduardo Corea (now he's getting too big and ruining his look)

Can't forget about Dennis Newman. He's about Mike's (Hammer) Height and competed around 230. Nice Classic physique. Rumor has it he's making a comeback to compete in the 2011 Olympia. I wish him well. He went through leukimia cancer.....

BB nowadays at his height over 6 feet tall would out weigh him by 40 pounds or more. But WOULD NOT look as good as Dennis did at 230....IMO

Boy, how the competition has changed since the Lee Haney era. He was probably the last Mr. Olympia from the "classic physique" era. Dorian came after Lee, and he was kind of in between. Dorian was a great champion, who carried significantly more mass but maintained some degree of a classic physique. The Olympia, as far as I'm concerned, went down hill after Dorian...

Myyyy nigga! It doesn't get any better....got the condition....got the crazy fullness that NO ONE seems to have...always one or the other today, never both. Get so tired of hearing about Branch's awesome condition...just looks juiced to me.

Troy is probably the closest, got the crazy shoulder/waist ration...awesome dryness...however that exploded muscle belly fullness is the Grail. What is it going to take...public ridicule of the judges? Calling them out and say, "Why is it that todays Olympia doesn't look better than the 2nd and 3rd place finisher of 15 years ago?"

Look, we do it in little league..."ump, you blind?" Why not bodybuilding? Start outing these guys and gals....call a schmoe alert...something.

He is about five foot 2 right? What do you think he weighed back then..around 180-190? He did have a complete physique all the bodyparts and conditioning was better than Franco the 1981 Olympia too. Kevin,
Yes, I think he was just a shade under 5'2". He competed at @ 176, in the 81 Olympia.I agree that he had Franco beat in that Olympia. These pics are from the Night of Champions in New York in in 1990 when he placed third behind Benaziza and Yates, he said he weighed 225 for that show! I also rememeber him being ahead at the 79 NOC and then ended tied up tied after the third round, and lost some kind of tie breaker to Robbie.

I remember watching the 79 NOC on TV..that was 32 years ago and today bodybuilding can not even get an annoucement on ESPN who wins the Olympia our Super Bowl so to say. They'll cover bowling, lacrosse etc. etc. how damn many people watch lacrosse for pete's sake.

We've seen all the great pics up here on this thread but IMO this pic of the Late Serge Nubret is best pic in here. I know he wasn't a very huge guy but look at his asthetics....CHEST!!!! Benfatti's pic would for me be a close second. But a physique that me personally would want to attain is Benfatti or Labrada.....both short guys under 200 pounds.

Yes, Levrone's pic in here blows everyone else's away but Serge's physique had a sculpted physique with a miniscule waist, huge arms and chest. Don't see physiques like this anymore!

I had the honor of prepping Renel Janvier for the 1991 Ironman (2nd). His skin was so thin I was worried that I'd pull it off his flesh as I oiled him up.

His physique is ideal in my book.

Baldie

Bill I've never saw Renel before you posted his pic but I'm like you I'd put that physique up against ANYBODY!

It's impossible to pick a Platonic ideal but this comes close for me.

Mentzer had no missing bodyparts. He was a genetic freak of nature as well as introducing the BB world to heavy duty training. Another guy who should have been Mr O!!
