How many of you guys use Hook Grip instead of over under? how long did it take you guys to get used to the pain? does it ever kinda go away?

also do you have to have huge hands to be able to use hook grip well? I have above average but not huge.

not necessarily...as long as you can get your thumb under your index finger you are ok.

ok yeah i can do that. why don't more powerlifters use hook grip? I've seen a guy pull around 900 with it so obviously it has great potential and it doesn't have the high risk of bi tears. seems like a win win once mastered.

The hook grip is definitely something that takes a lot of getting used to. Personally, I've encountered great difficulty in stopping the bar from rolling when deadlifting so, for the time being, I've switched back to staggered.

Atleast pain from the biceps tear will result in a better peak!

I do simple double-over grip until my grip gives out and then I go over-under.

Stick with it. I have average to small hands and it works great. Make sure you use chalk. When I start my training cycle over I'll use a smooth bar to make sure I'm really training my grip, stick with it!

Been working at the hook grip. It works really well but hurts. Trying to get use to it.
