Well yesterday was my first bodybuilding show ever. I decided to get my feet wet at the NPC Atlanta Championships. It's a decently small show but there definitely were some good competitors there. I dieted about 10-11 weeks for this on a whim and although i didn't look as good and do as well as i planned, i thought that my first show went smoothly and i learned a lot. I wanted to really learn how my body (diet-wise) and i just wanted the experience of competing and pushing it to the limits.

By the way, i just turned 24.

I ended up getting 2nd in the Novice Heavyweight and 4th in the Men's Overall Heavyweight. Weighed in at just below 220 and also was the tallest competitor there at 6'1.

The main problem i had was my peak week carb load. I think i looked fantastic on Tuesday with great muscle separation in my legs and great vascularity but ended up pushing too hard on wednesday and somewhat spilling over and holding water. I ended up having to try and backtrack for the rest of the week trying to get dry again. It sucks because i looked pretty smooth yesterday and today i wake up dry and vascular as hell (i ate a large pizza and 2 burgers after the show). Very frustrating. But i definitely learned what to do and what NOT to do. It was a great learning experience.

After talking to the judges after the show they pretty much said i just need size. The 3 heavies who beat me all were shorter and just outmassed me so i plan to just take time to grow and come back at a bigger show next year.
I would love some feedback from you guys...here are just a couple of the pics, im trying to get some more in the next couple days

for your first show not bad, especially if you did your prep yourself.

You need more density to your muscles which makes sense with you only being 24 years old.

You need more size for sure pretty much everywhere. Really noticeable in the front bi and the rear lat spread.

You also need to be WAY leaner. Now I know you said you over-carbed blah blah blah here is the thing when I'm truly pealed head to toe its almost IMPOSSIBLE to over-carb and screw anything up.

Color could be better as well. I prefer to be sprayed at my shows and I usually loofa all week going in to get the dead skin off and also apply baking soda after i wash to neutralize the ph of my skin so it doesnt react weird to the tan. This usually gives me that nice deep even dark brown color.

Lastly, the pink trunks dont fit ya in the glutes, to much lose fabric....nothing is worse than saggy fabric in mens posing trunks
