Yeah, I'm happy for the girls who placed well (especially for our friend Jillian Reville), but this appears to be more like an "Extreme Figure" division...Which isn't a bad thing...But I was expecting what you described above....A FBB who is not too big and not too dieted down. I was really hoping this class would reward her look. She works harder then anyone I know. SHe is a winner already regardless of what happens now! Also she did her diet on her own this time which not many can do. Kudos to her for learning and listening to her body over the years, she has done an aoutstanding job!!

this has been a great journey to the stage! this prep has been fun again. i trained how i liked to, did my diet with the advice of some great friends. All in all, best prep yet!

are there things i need to change? hell yea! this is a growing process! and Sean is right my arms are smaller, but i have huge ass delts that i a damned proud of that over power my arms! lmao!

if i stayed in figure, i would not ahve been happy. i dont like the more full look on me. i LOVE how i looked today! i could ahve been more full, but doing my own diet and trying to figue out a carb up when i have never had to do this before was intense to say the least. doign the diet up too this week i was totally fine. w out the help from Mike and Mel, i would have freaked out and been really really flat on stage.

thanks for everyone support! i hope i get the chance to do my routine and kick some ass tonight! if i dont win the class,,,, then JR NATS better be ready! im bringing it again!!!!!!!!!!!

this is exactly right. to be honest just cause this is the first WPD show, doesnt mean the girls will be judges the same at the next show. they could only judge who showed up... by the end of the season we should ahve a grasp on the division, but until then, i feel there will be a lot of dissapointed people.

A lot of people making good points here, including Justin.
I think I'm gonna take a wait and see approach to this before I jump on or off the band wagon.

The girls in these classes (Jilly and Dana) are WAY harder and more muscular than figure (addressing justin's argument of what will figure and bikini be)... if he or anyone things that these girls are just a little bit more than current figure - they need to check it - because Jillian got blasted in Figure for the package she brought to the national level for being too muscular and conditioned - now, she's getting (and rightfully so) rewarded.

To me - at least at the NPC/National Level - there is a clear distinction as to the classes of bikini, figure and physique (especially after seeing the results here) - pro, not sure I can tell as much... there tends to be more emphasis on "the total package" rather than just one aspect of it.

I got to watch the Class A WPD while waiting to go on for Figure. I LOVED the physiques overall, & the posing was beautiful. It's nice they get to be creative & show their personality along with all the hard-earned muscle. I didn't get to see any results so I can't speak to that, but I am so impressed with the WPD ladies!!!

I also loved what JillyRev said about liking the way she looked. That is really important--do you like the way you look when you're NOT onstage? You have to look at yourself in the mirror every day & only you live in your body 24-7-365. The way YOU like to look may not get you a trophy, but it feels d*** good when you get stopped in the grocery store or the mall, or when the guys at the gym stop to watch you (the 'little girl') do your heavy sets! LOL! :yep:

I would not get your panties in a wad just yet---this is the FIRST WPD. No one knows WTF they want----not even the judges...I think it will take many different forms before it is "figured out", if ever.... Like any Female competition (fbb, figure, fitness, etc), we never know how the hell to show up from show to show, year to year, so at least they are staying CONSISTENT with that-the not knowing aspect!

I hope Jill wins the tall class as she seemed to have the best condition. The only minor expection of Lindsey not in the first call out. People are saying she should do bbing, but I disagree. She is not the mass monster that most pro fbbers are. I was already contacted to do a shoot with Lindsey for publication....so people clearly like her win or lose.

this has been a great journey to the stage! this prep has been fun again. i trained how i liked to, did my diet with the advice of some great friends. All in all, best prep yet!

are there things i need to change? hell yea! this is a growing process! and Sean is right my arms are smaller, but i have huge ass delts that i a damned proud of that over power my arms! lmao!

if i stayed in figure, i would not ahve been happy. i dont like the more full look on me. i LOVE how i looked today! i could ahve been more full, but doing my own diet and trying to figue out a carb up when i have never had to do this before was intense to say the least. doign the diet up too this week i was totally fine. w out the help from Mike and Mel, i would have freaked out and been really really flat on stage.

I looked to Physique class as my last hope - to compete there one day. But now I dont know... I do not train legs that much for example - offseason I train them bi-weekly to not oversize my upper body. To size DOWN - I would have probbably eat no food at all and learn how to walk on my arms :dunno::dunno:

You look amazing. A few minor adjustments and I think your structure alone will take you far in WPD. Don't get discouraged. Now that's some Cory-type shape.

The Figure style suits don't work for me. That and the posing needs to be quite different from bbing. I personally like the skirt idea. One bout big as a bandaide. So cute.

Dave and Rx Crew - many thanks for the play by play and feedback. Also, many thanks to the board members for their feedback.

Hopefully, Dave can get a judge on HMR so we can get some insight to WPD criteria. I personally, love the look - though I agree with Justinian that I had always pictured the top-5 WPD look as what I wanted figure to be. I agree there's still a large gap between FBB and WPD and I think there's plenty of room for women to grow into that gap.

I would be very interested to see a montage of recent top placings in FBB and Figure compared to the top placings in today's WPD. Unfortunately, I'm pic-editing challenged...any takers? :)

Just carefully analyzed the WPD photos. Dana and Rachel go 1 and 2 in Class A, although if the show is still won from the back then Rachel. That butt has kung foo pow factor. Love her back double bi shot. Class B goes to Amanda 1 and Natalie 2. Dana wins overall.

Be on the look out category: Ann Calari. Folks should take notes on her posing. Little tighter and she wins a show.

All those hating on MPD, Pahleeze. 40-plus gym rats and wanna be models? Add that up. The shorts need to be longer for some of those fellas.

Those of you complaining about the new physique division, consider this:

There are 8 female bodybuilders and 50 physique competitors in this show. Take a look at the quality of competitors in the contest gallery and tell me which one you prefer. Women that could have chosen to compete in bodybuilding (and some of them should have) CHOSE Womens Physique. No one forced them to. I think the women themselves are telling us what they prefer.

Jilly Jill, you better be playin' our Nikki Minaj song in your ear! We're all very proud of you. Kat was literally yelling out loud when Dave announced your call-out into the top group. Its pretty obvious that you've finally got a division ideally suited for you. A few little tweaks and your gonna be unstoppable in this division. And after looking at the comparisons I'll go on record as saying you could very easily win your class and the Overall. You shape is far superior to anyone in Class A.

Regardless of the outcome you better be proud of your efforts!

My gut tells me this is how they will keep fem bbers pacified. Keeping the doors open on the amateur level. But like you say, most of the seasoned vets have no desire to do a local, regional or national qualifyer unless to requalify for the pro-qualifyer, which at some point may become fewer as the pro shows decrease.

I've looked at the pics, comparisons more specifically, and evidently I'm the only one who thinks (from the waist down) that Dana looks very odd.....Almost like she tore her right quad or something. I'm not nearly as impressed as everyone else. Actually, Jillian has HUGE potential in this division. Jill, get some little bumps on them biceps, more detail in the abs, and a little more booty and your gonna be incredibly good in the WPD.
Jill should've won the tall class in my opinion.
