1. Personal Chef
Grocery shopping and cooking takes so much time and energy that it is every competitor's dream to have a personal chef! Most competitors love to workout and enjoy that part of the training but when it comes to the hours spent in the kitchen prepping their weekly meals, they would be happy to pass that chore along to someone else! This is the number one fantasy on every competitor's list!
2. More Sleep
It seems there is never enough time in the day to get everything done: the weight training, multiple cardio sessions, cooking, eating, and work! Many competitors have a hard time sleeping on top of all the draining exercise and dieting. We wake up hungry and with all the water consumption we wake up to go to the bathroom. To sleep eight hours and wake up feeling fully rested would be a small miracle in the competitor's world!
3. More Carbs
Whenever we look at our diets we wonder, "where are the rest of our carbs?" Competitors have low carb diets which make us look lean but reduce our energy levels, cognititive function, and patience with others. It would be great to have a few extra rice cakes, oats, brown rice, fruit, or cubes of sugar in our diets! We would be a lot nicer and happier!
4. Porta Potty
When drinking between 1-2 gallons of water a day, we can't go very far without needing a bathroom break. A porta potty would solve this issue and would make us fully mobile! No constantly searching for a bathroom or only going to places where you know the location of the facilities. Total freedom to travel and keep drinking our water!
5. Home Gym
When getting ready for a show, two to three cardio sessions a day may be required. That's several trips to the gym. It sure would be a lot easier if we didn't have to leave our homes at night for another workout. Having a home gym helps keep a competitor consistent and saves us some travel time. Plus you know no-one's on your machine at home and you won't lose your machine to someone else when you take a bathroom break! :-)

I finally have my personal chef! I'm so excited! I have hired Sarah to grocery shop and cook all my meals for me. She even delivers it all to me Sunday morning!
Now I have more time for training!
If anyone here in Chicago wants her to cook for you too, let me know!

Top 5 foods to eat after the show! 1. Pizza This is usually the item which tops the post-show food list of every competitor! The bread, the cheese, the sauce! No matter what you put on top, it's amazing!! 2. Cupcakes Whether it's Sweetcheats, Sweet Mandy B's, or Magnolia's, every competitor enjoys a decadent cupcake in any flavor! 3. Chocolate However, our favorite flavor has to be chocolate. Anything you give us with chocolate, in or around it, will delight! 4. Alcohol After months of training and dieting, it's fun to let loose with a little wine or beer. Although it will probably only take one; our tolerance is low after a show! 5. Bread This carb is noticeably lacking from the competitor diet! Just having a sandwich that includes bread is a treat! This category includes cinnamon rolls, blueberry muffins, and garlic breadsticks! Bonus treats-- other honorable mentions include: truffle fries, mac and cheese, and ice cream!

She actually is not expensive and is willing to take on more people! So if anyone wants their meals prepped and no more grocery store runs, just let me know!

Top five things to do AFTER the competition:
1. Shower
The first thing competitors usually want to do after the show is shower. We haven't showered in days because of the tanning products, we're oiled up, and we've been sweating on stage.
It's great to get all that excess color off and actually be able to sit down without a towel under you. We have to be so careful about anything we might touch or come into contact with because the tan will rub off on it and we will get marks on our own tan.
So, after the show, it's nice to scrub it all off, cozy up under some blankets, sleep in any position, and feel fresh and clean again!
2. Eat Sensibly
After the show, the biggest question is, "what are you going to eat now?!" Most of us want to stuff ourselves with pizza and cupcakes after months of strict dieting. However, it's best to eat sensibly. Your stomach will thank you for it and you won't feel guilty the next day. Plus, you'll still look great for your photo shoots!
3. Re-hydrate
During the show, competitors become a little dehydrated on purpose to show off their muscularity. After the show it's important to start drinking water again right away. There might be some swelling as the body is not used to the new sodium enriched food being ingested. However, the more water you drink, the more sodium will be flushed out, and the less post show swelling you will experience.
4. Get a massage
Standing on stage in an uncomfortable flexed and twisted position for approximately thirty minutes will leave you in need of a massage. My lower back and shoulders are always so sore for a couple days after the show. Posing is a workout! And a massage is a nice relaxing reward!
5. Get your next diet
It's easy to fall off track once your show is over. Therefore, it's important to set new goals. Get a new diet and exercise program to follow right away. It doesn't matter if it's an off season diet or not; eating clean and being consistent with your workouts will combat the post show let down and you'll continue to feel great.
