I've been using Chain'd Out courtesy of Rx Muscle's very own The Big Sexy for the past week. TBS showed ALRI Mercy on my soul and sent out a 90-servings tub of Blue Raspberry.

Thank you, Lou.

Check out more ALRI products @ https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-L2o67yVdDYo/Ti-KswVGHhI/AAAAAAAAGyo/c6fofQJpSjk/s288/ALRI200x100.gif (http://www.humapro.com/)

The first thing I noticed on opening the container was there was next to zero settling. Most know to expect 3/4 or only a half-filled container of anything due to settling, but Chain'd Out was filled to the brim.

Also noticed what's labeled as a silica packet, a moisture absorbent gizmo resting on the top layer of the container. I remembered heavyiron's review of the product where he mentioned some minor clumping issues. This silica packet seems to have erased that issue entirely.

Another item of interest is that the product, imo, tastes delicious. I'm a supplement junkie who typically jokes with retail sales people that at least "wasting" my money on supps prevents me from dropping that cash on booze and cigarettes. I've tasted some horrible supplements, but Chain'd Out is definitely not on that list.

Completed my Super-DMZ Rx (http://www.ironmaglabs.com/) cycle and am interested in keeping as much strength and size as I can. As a stick man-type, I figure nutrition is one important variable I can focus on.

heavyiron's opinion is respected for a reason, of course. He is knowledgeable and looks the part of Diesel Mofo. Check out his review:

Review of Chain’d out by heavyiron

I received a container of Chain’d out for free and would like to share my thoughts on this product. I am not a big fan of OTC products and for the most part think they are a complete waste of money. I have seen numerous competitors hit the stage with zero supplements and win. In my humble opinion there is no replacement for solid food.

Chain’d out came in a container in a powder form. Upon opening the product I immediately noticed clumps of solid pieces and areas of uniform powder. I tried to break up the clumps with the scoop provided and they broke apart with some difficulty. It appeared as though the product had been exposed to moisture. I live in a very dry climate and the seal was intact before opening so this must have happened before I received it. About 5 days after using Chain'd out I found another scoop inside the container. It was a smaller scoop size about half the size of the first one I found. I have no idea which scoop size I am supposed to use. This seems like a poor quality control issue.

I mixed 2 scoops (I used the larger one) with 16 ounces of cold water in a shaker cup. The powder and clumps mixed easily and completely dissolved in the cold water and did not foam up. I have used various amino powders previously and most taste terrible. Chain’d out had a strong citrus berry taste followed by a mellow banana taste. There was some bitterness but not very detectable over the sweetener. Overall the taste was good. This is one of the best tasting amino drinks I have used.

BCAA drinks definitely have their place when dieting. I find them ideal when I don’t want to consume fast proteins post training in the form of solid food. I like to weight train, immediately perform cardio and as soon as I am finished use a BCAA drink. Looking at the label of Chain’d out I see no problems. It has what we need and is easy to use.

I recommend this product.

BCAA's are up for debate wrt their efficacy, but I'm going to give them a shot.

I'm online entirely too much and YouTube is a part of that equation. There are several fitness channels I check out regularly. One is the Hodges brothers (http://www.youtube.com/user/twinmuscleworkout) and the other is Lui Marco (http://www.youtube.com/user/luimarco).

Here's their perspective on BCAA supplementation.

Hodges dismiss BCAA:

While Marco embraces BCAA's:

The Brothers Hodges present a common sense approach to muscle building and I really enjoy their vids.

Lui Marco is an enthusiastic natural bodybuilder who promotes bodybuilding from that natural perspective, but has recently posted several tributes to the bodybuilders of today and the '80s and '90s. He has also stated, if I'm not mistaken, that if a person is lacking in testosterone that they should supplement as a matter of medical necessity.

heh I've had good fortune with my reviews. Did one of Hardcore Aussie Muscle...

Hardcore Aussie Muscle is one amazing magazine.

Currently reading issue 11:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v108/curt_james/ham11.jpg

On the cover is the 2008 NABBA Australian Champion Justin Wessels.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v108/curt_james/justinwessels.jpg
Wessels placing 6th at the 2008 NABBA Universe out of 19 competitors on October 4, 2008

The issue includes a Wessels interview in the 98-page issue. The magazine is glossy and though not as deep as some muscle mags, Hardcore Aussie Muscle is a good 1 1/4" taller and 1/4" wider than your average Flex magazine.

There's also a profile of 2008 NABBA Figure Champion Anna Hetzel.

http://www.southboundfitness.com.au/img/2008comp9.jpg

"Anna swears by Walking Lunges and believes that it is the one exercise that every female should do to get a firm backside and shapely legs," is just a bit of text from the article.

Contest coverage of the 2008 IFBB Australia National Bodybuilding Championships held October 19 and 20 in Sydney. Six full-color pages of contest reporting and pics! Reporting on the 2008 NABBA VIC Championships appears as well with five full-color pages of text and images.

There's also a very humorous piece by "'Felix' the judge" who offers what he describes as a "tongue-in-cheek" look at bodybuilding shows from a judge's perspective. One bit from the article that may ring true for any fan, judge, or athlete:

"Lately as I've been sitting at the table trying to figure out who the winners and placegetters are, I have wanted to start off placing them in third spot as no one was in good enough condition for first or second. It is often a decision between picking the best body out of a bad lot. When you get the standout competitor it is a joy to watch them on stage and I don't want them to get off."

Okay, that's not the funniest comment but I definitely agree with the statement. Local shows seem to always have that class with one competitor who gets a trophy simply for showing up. No one else has entered the contest!

Here's some background info that fans like myself may not be aware of. Remember, the author is offering this in jest but I'm betting the following is more fact than fiction:

"The judges meeting before the show starts is usually more of a catch up with people you haven't seen for a while and then the Head Judge just tells everyone to do what they did last time. What happens if I f***** up last time? Although I have never actually asked that question!"

This information-dense magazine appears to have less advertising than the average bodybuilding periodical. One notable advertiser is HMR sponsor and ALRI CEO Author L. Rea.

http://www.alrindustries.com/

https://www.muscleandstrength.com/store/images/alriguy.jpg

A neat two-page segment is their "Celebrity Stalker" starring Jane Lukan who they describe as "a massive bodybuilding fan." There's a brief introduction of the lovely Lukan and the second page shows shots of her with Dex, Toney, Priest, Jay Cutler, and more. All I can say is she's a lot easier on the eyes than the mayor of bodybuilding! (Sorry, D. :-D)

Mr G would approve of the single page feature titled "Never Give Up". This article highlighted the amazing story of Andy Harrison who survived getting hit by a car at 100kms per hour (about 62 mph)! Harrison faced an 18-month recovery and now competes in INBA competitions.

http://www.inba.com.au/

Editorials, nutrition, more profiles, AAS info (for informational purposes only), training, paparazzi shots (including Dennis Wolf, Chris Cormier, the X-Man, Priest, Kai, Rusty Jeffers, and more), plus for the gray beards (like yours baldly) there's a section called Aussie Archives with pics of years gone by - this time showcasing the 1981 Mr. Southern Universe! A gym directory concludes the issue. HARDKORR!

I'm leaving out a lot of content, but can state strongly that this magazine is definitely worth a look! Get your hands on an issue!

^^^^ ALRI mentioned in that review, btw.

And one review of IronMagLabs Super-DMZ Rx.

I'll be using LG Sciences' Formadrol Extreme shortly. Just completed four weeks of Super-DMZ Rx.

http://lh6.ggpht.com/_1nLdNGnrAes/TKe8yAsaV5I/AAAAAAAAAYs/I5tdkyWR1a0/Super-DMZ-label.jpg

Formadrol was on the list of products to use as a follow-up supplement.

http://lh4.ggpht.com/_1nLdNGnrAes/TKe8HQE356I/AAAAAAAAAYo/m93YmcbKoXw/LG-formadrol_extreme.jpg

Weight and measurements upon beginning using the IronMagLabs supplement:

9/13/2010

183.8 lbs.

Neck 14.25
R. Arm 12.5/14
L. Arm same
Shoulders 48
Chest 40.5/45
Waist 35
Hips 39
Thigh 23
Calf 15
Forearm 11.5
Ankle 9.25
Wrist 6.5

Got a fricking cold during the third week, though. Bitter-making. But I definitely love this supplement and am looking forward to finishing the bottle at some point in the future.

Taken after three weeks using Super-DMX:

http://lh6.ggpht.com/_1nLdNGnrAes/TKfApkaE-YI/AAAAAAAAAY4/aeua7s1UJ9M/s512/october2010.jpg

Note the Dorian Yates black socks action!

10/2/2010

193.9 lbs.

Neck 14 7/8" Son of a... couldn't make it to 15? :cloud:
R. Arm 12 7/8" relaxed/hanging at side 14 5/8" flexed
L. Arm 13" relaxed 14 5/8" flexed

My left arm was 15" flexed and pumped after my most recent arm workout and with my fist nearly touching my freaking shoulder to squeeeeze out the extra hair to reach that measurement. lol

Shoulders 49
Chest 41.25/45.75
Waist 35.25
Hips 39.5
Thigh 24
Calf 15.5
Forearm 12
Ankle 9.25
Wrist 6.5

Both excellent products!

I expect that Chain'd Out will prove to be as worthwhile. :beerbang:

Hey Curt! Why did you close your regular journal?

Hey Curt! Why did you close your regular journal?

Regular journal? I have a training journal (http://forums.rxmuscle.com/showthread.php?613-Curt-James-training-journal) and then a separate journal for socializing (http://forums.rxmuscle.com/showthread.php?129434-Curt-s-social-gathering-thread). Both are open, brother.

...

Oh.

Well, looks like I closed the training journal (opened now) by accident. I update my training journal on my phone at the gym. All I can guess is that I hit the wrong button. D'OH!

While I'm here, here's another luimarco BCAA (post workout shake) video!

Btw, ALRI's Chain'd Out was delicious. Awesome product. Thanks to IML's TBS for hooking me up...
