View Full Version : How Much Cardio during Prep ?

How much Cardio are you guys doing.Right now im 4.5 weeks out and doing 2 x 60 min sessions of Low Intensity Treadmill ( HR @ 100 - 110 ) every day...

Sometimes i think its too much.....

I worked up to that much around 3 weeks out from my last prep. I start my prep usually at 30/30, but I like to keep food high, carbs high to moderate and just do more work to get lean. This helps my ecto frame keep more muscle, if I lower carbs and cals to much I look like crap.

Everyone is different though.

it sure is boring as fuck !

I bought myself a portable dvd player so I can watch entire series until the show :D

I am doing one hour as of now, I'll up it to 2 hours monday at 8 weeks out.

than, that's crazy as fuck but I might do 3 hours for the last 4 weeks.:eek:

I am going for a certain look that I never achieved so I am going all out this time around, I am prefer doing more cardio than cutting food

I did 2 hours last year on non training days and 45 min on training days. I am currently doing 45 min on off days (3 days), have been for the last several weeks, but I'm 15 weeks out. Will adjust as needed as I go.

So some of you guys are doing around the same as me....

I started at 2 x 30 mins and increased from there.Been doing the 2 x 60 mins the last 2 weeks.Started around 215....203 Now.Looking at coming in around 196.

Stavios....Yeah,its boring as hell.I bought an Archos 7 and have been watching approx 1 movie per day ! iPod is also a saviour !

You know what its like when you get closer to the show.....You worry if you are gonna be ready,even when the people whos judgement you trust say you are on track...your head starts to f**k with you..... :(

40 minutes straight out of bed in the morning. Then another 30 minutes at night. A couple times of week I mix in a bike ride with my kids in the afternoon for a 3rd cardio session.

i usually do 1hr in the morning and 40min to 1hr in the evening...

but if im bored i dont mind goin for an extra walk here and there on a moderate/non strenious speed....

i've been doing 2 hours a day of low intensity for a good part of my prep..hour in the morning before meal 1 and an hour before my last meal..been working great

At 4 weeks out.....Don't worry about it, just keep doin what your doin, your right on point.

I currently do 30 minutes of cardio and will increase 40-45 minutes max if needed.

Here are a couple quick pics that were taken about 9 weeks out and 8.5 weeks out, nothing special just some quick shots.
