I'm sure this is going to be a great event however.....I thought Jarka's intentions originally was to have the Legends come back and compete. Just found out Lee Haney, Dorian, Lou and Ronnie are NOT competing, rather making appearances in other capacities.

Not degrading the show or the guys not competing, just disappointed a bit we don't get see what the over 50 crowd could do at the highest level. I have been with Lee just a couple weeks ago and believe me he was not far off from competition form. In interviews I've seen of Lou lately, no doubt he could have also and Dorian is always in shape. I think Ronnie had some recent back procedures so that is understandable.

On facebook Tony Pearson said he was supposed to compete.....he is looking AWSOME TOO and was told by the promoter not to come??

I want to see how Samir comes in.

My predictions:

1. Dex/Troy
2. Troy/Dex
3. Toney
4. Ed
5. Samir or Lee

The judges will want one Legend in the top 5. Its not the promoters fault so many old times were not up to "one more time" even for huge cash prise. Just to make it on stage is $5,000.

Gave my tickets to Troy. We really wanted to see this show....

Shawn Ray's facebook page explanation of the Tony Pearson controversy:
Shawn Ray (http://www.facebook.com/sugarshawnray)

Regarding Tony Pearson Not Performing at the Masters Pro World:

Tony was asked to "Guest Pose" earlier this year and there was an "Agreement" in place.
Sometime later the Terms of this Agreement "Changed" and the Promoter was not willing to Agree to said "Financial Changes" and pulled the plug on the entire deal which she was well within her Rights to do so.
An Agreement is an Agreement until one or the other decides to "Try" and change it before the Date of the event.

Tony was looking great but like Bob said, this is Not a Federation Issue and this issue is actually a "Non Issue" when last minute changes to a Contract try to get done!

In "Good Faith" the Promoter offered Tony several Tickets to Attend the event and Booth Space by a certain Date he was to acknowledge Acceptance and he never replied.

He was Never Competing in this Contest.

He is Not "Banned" his Services were respectfully declined!

I agree that Lee does NOT have a top 5 physique at this level. Just reporting what I hear from reliable sources. Samir and Lee are being tapped as the best of the Old Guard conditioning wise for this show and the promoters/IFBB want at least one legend in the top 5. Just saying.....

I must admit that MD has ten times the coverage of this show than RX. What gives? Ray is doing a splendid job with his coverage.

Manny Perry went on to become a movie stuntman (stunt double for Lou Ferrigno on the Incredible Hulk TV series for five years) and then stunt coordinator.

Would have been great for Pearson to compete. Still remember the magazines covering his upset over Ron Teufel at the '78 Mr. America. Still in shape 30-plus years later!

Sadly, Ron Teufel passed away at age 45.

Oh, yeah? Temporary palsy or is this something permanent? :(

Didn't Dave state on an episode of HMR that although Species is helping to sponsor the event that they weren't listed on the posters for the contest?

Perhaps Rx Muscle was pushed out of the event to some degree. :dunno:

Was curious about that. Found this on Google...

I read on the internet that I had a stroke in the past. This is false. I never had a stroke.

I did have a very unusual tumor removed from a facial nerve about 10 years ago. It grew real close to my brain so I opted for surgical removal. This is one reason why my face looks as it does today. I have never suffered physically before or after the surgery.

For many years I was misdiagnosed as having a facial paralysis (Bell's Palsy).

Very grateful and happy just to be alive and feeling great. Facing my face does not face me!

This could be. I know Troy is being smothered, as are the others, by Ray. Troy is a major fan of RX and posts only (and reads) on RX that I know of. I hear out here in the trenches that Ray would like this to be an annual show and have an even bigger role. When Romano left the herd RX seemed to have lost its aggressiveness......IMO.

The top 5 looked great, Dex won it IMO. Troy looked fantastic though, could've placed higher. My personal fav is Ed Nunn, heck of a nice guy. I met him at the Kentucky Muscle in 2007, the year before he won the nationals. Can't take anything away from Dex though he came in spot on.

I'd have to say that the judges was pretty fair. Dexter definitely won then Toney looked like a clear 2nd. 3 thru 5 could have been interchanged. The thing that I'd like to see If they could get enough older Masters to compete is have it similar to Masters Nats and categoriize over 40, over 50. It's not possible for guys like Samir to compete with Dexter a current active pro. Not sure how many older pros would compete though.

I had it the same way. Cant get Troy to return my calls.....he is bummed city. The judges have a hard on for Troy. The RX gang agrees.

This show sucked now that I think about it. Glad I was sick and did not go to Miami. The Legends were the big disappointment. Few could have placed on the NPC Regional or National amateur scene.

Guess the old D bol receptors are not what they use to be....and the fire certainly was not evident except for one or two men.

They probably need some help now to get in shape. The gurus should volunteer and prep them by todays standards

I know and maybe why I originally posted this thread. The idea behind this show was to promote the "Legends" and the hype behind this idea was directed towards the older pros. That being said, some of the guys who did get up on stage should not have!

This should not have been touted as a "Legends" promotion. Call it what it was: IFBB Pro Masters Event. I'm not blasting them for doing it, just calling the kettle black.

I have all the respect in the world for these "legends" I really do. But, now that you guys are bring it up. Aside from the top guys (the ones in their early to mid 40s) the Masters look very bad. The Masters Nationals guys (and the guys on this very forum) in the 50s, 60s and 70 class look a lot better than these pros did. Now I know that most of these pros haven't competed in years but that's no excuse. I took a 15 year layoff from competition and came back to the Masters last year in my best shape ever. I guess my expectations were much higher for these "legends". Don't think this contest will stick around unless they physiques improve and they categorize it by age groups.....Otherwise, it'll be just another pro show with guys in their early 40s gracing the stage.
