so what is the deal? like i heard Mike Johnston say on Power Hour this is still Strongman. this sorta new addition gives the smaller guys and the LW ladies a great chance to showcase their skills and a chance to get into the 2013 Arnold....

well here is some great sources for info:

I'm skeptical. growing the sport is one thing, but calling it "strongman" doesnt enhance the original brand, it detracts. could this be the beginning of the pussification of one of the worlds truly pure strength sports?

Not at all. The 175lbs class has always been a part of NAS. This does give the tiny guys a chance to show off and not have to deal with the lw monsters.

One thing that wasn't discussed was the "odd lift" events....

I still havent seen a breakdown of events and how they are weighted to afford the LW's etc the chance to compete. can you look into it and let us know?

I have sent an email. I think the 175lbs class had a 220 log at nationals last year. Also this comp is a platinum plus...everyone will be doing the same events
