So happy to have found this forum... I'm pretty new to body building but I'm inlove...I use to be 297lbs and I lost most of my weight doing weight watcher and cardio... I hit a wall and could not get pass 160... I started weight training with a guy-friend ... And my body started transforming ... For the first time in my life I felt muscle in my arms and legs... I couldn't stop touching myself...lol.. who know eating clean and lifting heavy could do such a thing ...

So that was right be before the new year... First week on the new year I was still on point with my WO's ... Then I fell off the wagon and the I let the wagon roll me over... But reading these ladies journals, watching YouTube, reading magazines (especially the dude ones) and following every IFBB, NPC, and WBFF on FB I'm re-motivated and ready to take my body to the next level...

Current Stats: 158 lbs (ugh) body fat @27%

I don't have my WO partner anymore (bf was getting jealous) so I'm on my own..

My plan is the continue my clean diet and WO 5-6 times a week...I'm open to any suggestions you guys might have... Competing is not a goal of mine... But I would love to work in the industry ..

HIT A WALL 3 WEEKS AGO!!

Yes, I finish strong the year 2011 down 148 lbs... I saw the numbers 149 on the scale for the first time in my life.... I was so happy with the results... then the new year came and I fell off... so off I decided to put focus on my finances... "shape up" my wallet... Having 2 gym memberships (one close to home and one close to work) was costly.. and buy all these supplements, workout stuffs, magazines, books was not helping either.. So I cut back, decided I was going to workout at home... I had the basics, jump rope, ball, mat, dumb bells.. and I had enough supplements to get me through the next few months...
But the workout at home never happen... so many distractions (food, booze and TV) Slowly I got the f^&* it's... couldn't sleep and instead of taking some melatonin .... i decided a glass a wine would do the trick which turn into a bottle or more.. stress over bills and how I was going to get my head out of water... and how I hate my job but can't make a move (just yet) ...
Everyday I would say starting back tomorrow but would never come.. Yesterday I weight myself 158...WTF!!! I wanted to cry... I started feeling all the weight I ever lost back on (at least in my mind) my pants felt tighter, my gut look bigger, no more muscle in my arms...
Then I read something a friend on facebook wrote "We make plans and god laughs" It hit me like a tone of bricks (but I ducked and it hit that wall standing in my way) and on the other side of that wall was Gold Gym's... That place is like therapy for the former mobitly obese chick... I can't quit the gym.. I can cut back on a lot of things... but this is not worth giving up... So I went to "church aka Gold's" today and the results were awesome..

Sometimes I have found when you have the pressures of the world on your back nothing helps get your head right but actually going to the gym and going back to what you love! Learning to deal with stress is the hardest part!

I go first thing in the morning for weights, but the after work cardio - ugh. I have to pack my gym bag and stop on the way home, because once I get home - like you said distractions and I don't want to go back.

You can do it! Look what you've accomplished already!! It's awesome!

I did the "train at home" thing for a while between gym memberships and found the same results you did - distractions in the form of food, computer, housework, etc. all caused me to fall away from my goals instead of bring me closer to them. I also noticed I train much harder AND more efficiently if I go to the gym to get it done. So for me, the gym expense, the supplement expense...they are must-haves and I have to find a way to do without other things.

I can't work out at home either. My last roommate had pretty much all the basics, treadmill, dumbbells, olympic barbells, squats rack, etc. I might have used it once or twice but never with any intensity. I NEED to be in a gym and out of the house to get anything done.

Had an amazing day!! First work was fun (for a change) had some great clients.. (I'm a Boutique Mgr/Makeup artist).. For the first time in a long time I actually enjoyed my job.. I was sad that i miss my son Wrestling tournament... It was the League Championships and he made it to the finals.. Which makes him a 3X Champ.. WHoot Whoot!!

I packed my bag early this morning and made dinner so I would have no excuse to hit the gym after work... And which I did and IT FREAKING ROCK!! Who rather hit the gym for a leg workout on a Saturday Night rather then hit the club and be hit on by some loser dudes??? (thumbs pointing at me) THIS CHICK RIGHT HERE!! lol ... Hope everybody else is having a kick-(Hams, Quads, Glutes)ass weekend!!

I've been in such a funk... I haven't been consistant with my workouts or diet since the new year... I've learned so much in the last year .. All my friends tell me how they are inspired by me and ask me for advice ... Mean while I feel like I'm living a lie... I'll hit the gym on Monday have great workout ... Feel some muscle soreness and skip it the next day.. Ugh .. During the holiday season I was getting 2 workouts in a day .. 4-5 times a week..

I could use many excuses (work, family, boyfriend , money) But things haven't truly changed ... The issues were there when I was on my A-game.. I got to get it together!

(sorry I had to vent)

I get it! Its so hard to get back into the groove once you've had some non-consistancy... good gravy I know that well! You'll get it, just push yourself to 'get there' and it'll be better!!!

x2! I dread missing a day now because I know it could lead me to inconsistency and getting it consistent again is an uphill battle. I get a lot of motivation from reading other people's training journals...those who train hard whether or not they are competitors. Sometimes it just takes me reading about an exercise someone else is doing that I've never tried before. Helps keep me from slacking.

Thanks ladies ... Great advice and I will after today I'm off for 5 days and I'm going to use that time to focus on me and get back into my routine... I enjoy reading everyone's journals and I watch alot of YouTube (more then regular tv) ... And even through I fell off the wagon... I'm not gonna let the wagon run me over ....

Maybe its a good idea to concentrate on seated press rather than squats till your back gets better? just a thought :) nice leg workout! Yeah, I hear you on the workout partner - I don't seem to push myself as hard when I know there's not someone there that can grab the weights when I'm failing.

You are right! Having good form is everything! Tons of girls sacrafice weight for correct form and eventually they end up hurt or with injuries. I think this focus of correct form has keep me pain and injury free all these years!

What is up with your back? Can you do anything before leg day to be proactive with it?
