I tried uploading the file but I couldn't get it in here. Anyway it's a clip from Henry Rollins' Sweatbox Spoken Word from 1988. It's called Mekanic. JTP maybe you can post it on here somehow? It's kind of funny but true in a way. It really applies to love topic. Have a listen if you get a chance guys.

Cool stuff DannyG, Rollins obviously is a thinker, but his notions are kinda like "Mechanic 101" - something I hope to have gone beyond in this show - the robot (mechanic) builds big muscles, gets a good job, shines his shoes - all so he gets the 'lab rat reward' - the piece of cheese (pussy, power, promotions etc - whatever floats his boat).

Just like iPhones and Laptops are not alive, neither are machines like the mechanic (biological robots), hence, now that you realize you are 'dead' can you seek a way out of the Matrix, of the Tunnel, etc - to "wake up" to what is real - the higher YOU?(as opposed to the current you)

For most- the cheese is enough. Lucky them. But given the statistics, it seems to be a lie…people are not as happy and satisfied as they seem on the surface. :yep:

Thanks for posting JTP! And Brian you have gone way beyond that "Mechanic" style of thinking on your past shows and my post was more for entertainment purposes. In fact I am not even sure if Rollins really believes that ALL people are like that but I would guess that the majority are. But I agree that people are not as happy and satisfied for the most part. That includes people that are financially secure that seem to have it all. They hide it so well but when they open up about their true feelings they are miserable people. What a life...
