Not sure if this should be a new thread.

I always liked pull ups for back and was wondering if others saw its as an essential lat exercise. If so...

1. What's your preferred form? (grip slightly wider than shoulder or wide grip)

2. Do you pull up to the point where your chin clears the bar or vince gironda style touching the chest to bar?

I think they are an invaluable. Chins/pullups hit the back in a way other lat exercises don't. I use a variety of grips because different grips hit the muscles different ways.

I am not yet strong enough to touch my chest to the bar, but I love doing pullups, slightly wider than shoulder width is my usual.

Do them all, I like to change it up every work out ( grip ). I think it works good and keeps it fresh.
