He's 6'1-6'2, ~190lb former D1 athlete. I have tested his body fat on a regular basis around 4.4-5.2% body fat for a couple years now. The guy is natural and doesn't even use protein powder (yet) he's got some freaky genetics and fair amount of drive. When he was playing football and eating more than 3 eggs for breakfast he got up to ~215 5% bodyfat in accident practically.

He's a natural born athlete and has done some modeling etc. I think with just a little bit of specific training towards the MPD look he could easily do some damage. He won't listen to me and won't do a show even though he's considered it. These pics are just him, no dieting down etc he's like this year round and again natural and no protein powder even. Just wanted to see what others thought if it would be worth the cost of protein and entry fee's to enter and NPC nat qualifier towards the end of the season?

I would think if he leans out a bit he should be in a good spot for the stage....however competing is something HE has to want to do. I say go to a show with him and let him see what it's all about.

He could do it, maybe thicken up his chest a little will help, and get lean enough.

The beret has to go...his chest is lacking....and needs more overall shape in his build...he would do ok at a local show...but wouldn't fair well at any large shows or national level...in his current shape..

He looks pretty good.....he is gay though..right? I mean if he is considering MPD?

I kid, I kid.

Keep up the jokes and see how far that'll get ya ;) we have some good things happening on RxMuscle for all physique competitors not just bodybuilders and all that we ask that everyone respects ALL competitors.

I at first was hesitant as well about the new division. A few of my friends have since become elite competitors and I have seen what they had to do to get there. Once I realized what the NPC was attempting to do (and so far it seems successfully asides the shorts) with it I gained a new respect. With all the $$$ it's bringing promoters I would say you better get used to it.

Funny how just because these guys don't want to kill themselves in the pursuit of bodybuilding and happen to be good looking dudes, others have to belittle their accomplishments by attacking their sexuality with no basis. Pretty sure these guys have the physiques that 80% of Normies would die for, not some bloated bodybuilder and same goes with pulling chicks too. I'm sure there are plenty of gay MPD competitors just like there is in every sport, but the few competitors that I know personally have and are smashing on some of the most prime girls available inside and out of this industry, I mean even Aaron Singerman managed to get laid as a MPD competitor.

You can at least give these guys enough respect to not take your time to go of your way to spew hate. I know you said it in a playful manor Swing and I'm not saying you have to love the division by any means and I surely don't but I think its about time people just accept MPD because it's not going anywhere, and as much as some might not like it Dave and Rx would be losing money if they didn't embrace it eventually.

OK, I am sorry but.....womans physique has posing...it has a routine....it has a posing suit, that I can understand. Mens physique? It seems more like mens Bikini because the contest seems to be run the same way....walk out.....turn a bit....stick your butt out.....wave and back off stage?? I guess I could embrace "Classic Bodybuilding" more. I think that is the way the NPC or IFBB should have went. Maybe MPD will head that way?? Who knows?

All I know is when they do the "Play by play" on here I skip over the commentary of MPD and Bikini? Yes I know MPD takes more hard work than Bikini....not to insult Bikini competitors either.

Good look for MPD, height may hurt him a bit though. Hard to not look lanky at that height and his arms are on the long side which makes it harder to look filled out. Needs a bit more size and needs to be leaner - he's lean but not the 5% or lower he's measured at, closer to 7 or 8%. Not to sound homo, but he's got that nice skin that the judges love. A bit more size and a bit more lean and he'd do well in novice of a mid size show. Not ready for open. I'd tell him to go for it but only if he's really committed. He can't just diet for a couple f weeks and hop on out there, he needs to be into it and dedicated to do some damage. Those stages are full of in shape guys with nice abs and good looking faces - to win you've got to come in dialed

It's kind of a mute point if he's not interested in competing

Sure he could. My advice would be for him to get a bit leaner and maybe work on his chest. He has a good physique, but he is going to need to get leaner to really differentiate himself from guys who "just work out" without the goal of competing.

I agree with your points about MP. I think it's a great new division that gives many people (myself included) an opportunity to compete while growing, or while pursuing other sports. Let's be real... How many guys say they'll compete "as soon as they're "big enough" yet never actually go through with it? I think MP is a great way to get into competing earlier.

Most of the people who spawn negative remarks about these guys aren't in good shape themselves. A few years ago, we were all bodybuilders: MP didn't exist. To the layperson, we're still bodybuilders. I'm never going to be 250 lbs., but that's ok with me. I get compliments on how I look all the time and the only place I'm considered small is on an internet message board. I think the same goes for many of the guys who desire this look. It's too bad BB fans have some sort of irrational phobia regarding MP... I guess everything is relative in a closed niche-type community or fanbase!

Best of luck to your friend.
