THE SHOW WILL GO ON: ASM in NYC is cancelled, ASM in Reno is announced
On Monday May 21, 2012 ASC received discouraging news; the LLC that was responsible for logistics in bringing ASM to NYC was unable to fulfill their obligation and that the proposed venue was not able to be secured. “ASC is always trying to create innovative ways to improve the visibility of the sport of strongman,” said ASC president Dione Wessels, “We were obviously upset to learn about NYC, but as an organization we aren’t afforded the opportunity to cry over spilt milk.”
The ASC team immediately went into action mode to secure another date and venue for the event. “We are proud to announce that ASM will be held Reno, Nevada at the Grand Sierra Casino and Resort during the Human Performance Weekend,” continued Wessels. The date of ASM will be August 25 and 26. “While we regret the date change and the possibility of conflict with currently unscheduled events, America’s Strongest Man® will go on. And all ASC athletes are welcome to participate.”
