View Full Version : So you want to work a booth??

For those of you who are aiming to go pro, perhaps secure a sponsorship that will result in having to do some booth work at the Arnold or the Olympia, or even be at vendor's tables at smaller shows... or maybe not, but still, at some point you may find yourself doing this, this is the thread for you.

Ladies, I ask you... for those who have experience working the booths and shows, talk about it here... what one can expect, what you felt while dealing with the crowd... anything related to it, so that others can try to get a feel for what it will be like, and not go in completely unprepared for it.

What exactly does a booth girl do - aside from from being yummy eye candy and pass out flyers? *I've always wondered* Are you coached and informed about the products and, on how to talk to people about them?

I've always had a great time working the booths. It's certainly not much $$ but I have always been allowed to sell 8x10s which helped bring in some extra cash.
As for the extent of your job, it really depends on the company you're working for. You're #1 job is to promote the products!! And I can guarantee that if you make that your priority, it increases your odds of being asked to work again in the future.

i would love to work a booth at loccal shows here in NY/CT... i feel like there are so many girls that do this or want to do it so it would be tough to actually get picked:)

last year was my 1st year and honestly i dont compare to you ladies...i will never compete (would like to but cant)
BUT the company i worked for was aiming for college girls and i fit the profile (lucky me) and was asked back for this year
i thaught it would be this crazy fun time but seriously it was sooo exhausting!! i mean its a whole day of standing there passing out fliers & samples, smiling and talking up the product
as for the work part...we were sent detailed information about the product we were promoting and were expected to be able to answer any questions people may have.
it was a great way to meet people and the attention from guys isnt so bad and well im a broke college student so any money is good money LOL

so i just got done working the Arnold Classic last weekend :)

-i was FREEZING!!! our booth was towards the back so there was a nasty draft goin on so me & the other girls were pretty uncompfortable the whole time (that sucked)
-there werent as many people there as last year
-we had twin sisters working our 2 booths, so they got most of the attention (oh well)
-i worked more hours than last year AND this new company's VP gave us commission for any tubs of the supplement we sold over the weekend SCORE!
-Arnold walked by and i got within 10ft of him (YEAH)
-I got to meet some more amazing people this year
-All in all it was a good time
-the guys want me back for next year =D

I've worked the Species booth at a couple of local shows here in NY and have had an absolute blast. It all depends on the people who run the company and the people who are at the booth with you. I didn't have to wear any crazy getups or revealing clothes, just a Species tank and jeans. I'm way too self conscious to work a booth where the girls are known for wearing teeny outfits. I think another reason I enjoyed it so much is because I know about the products and believe in them (since I use them), so I didn't have to put on a used car salesman act.

One thing I will say is that you always seem to get a couple people who try to ask you questions about the product with the intention of making you sound like a moron who doesn't know what you're talking about. They'll start dropping all sorts of elaborate ingredient names asking if the product contains such-and-such. So make sure you know about the products.

Drex had a list of contact for the Arnold if I remember correctly that same list would be beneficial for the Olympia as well I'm sure. Wonder if she still has it ;)?????

I would love to work with supreme protein because I really really really love their products.
I am seeing being directed to their website, but how do I get in touch with whoever is in charge of booths and sponsorships?
