Hi all!! I just won my Pro card at Team U!! Figure class b! I've decided to get my feet wet and jump in there for the PBW Pro show in tampa fl aug 11th! From there I will go to my home town Dallas Texas for the Europa Aug 18th!! :)

Looking forward to meeting some of you. feel free to follow my journey!! thanks!

Not really because I do not have time to regularly keep up with it right now. If you feel it needs to be moved go ahead, but I will not be keeping my training logs here. I do not have time right now.

Do you know the importance of marketing yourself in this industry? things dont just come to you, you have to do work!! Sorry you all dont take me seriously. I AM going to post here, i do not have time to write my everyday workouts etc. I will be posting and not Spam,..

Of course I know. I have as much insight into the marketing aspect of all this as you do, maybe a little more as I know how I would approach it if I ever attained the level I need to to make it worth it. A training journal doesn't have to include every single workout and meal you eat. But saying yes when they asked you to move it would have been a good start. And you know, maybe posting once a week or so in it just to let people know who you are and what you're about is a good start. No one wants to click your links, it's much easier to read about it here. American's are lazy.

You'd be wise to learn to take some criticism gracefully. Just sayin.

In other news (or unsolicited trivia), yes, there are photo albums. Check your profile for that feature, but a thread is something I'm guessing more people would view.

Go to "Settings" (top margin) and then click "Edit Profile Picture" (left margin).

And, yes, to photo albums. You should see something in settings or on your profile page.

Thank you all for the support! So Im 3 weeks out from PBW tampa, getting my feet wet, then Europa Dallas (4 weeks) my home town so looking forward to family and friends being there!!

Nerves arent setting in because regardless how I place, its a dream to be on stage w women I've followed through the years!! :)

I was honored to be asked to be trophy presenter at the Sunset Classic this past weekend. well Jason Huh was the guest poser,,, but there was aq glitch in music so I kept the crown entertained. lol been wanting to throw a double bi and most muscular on stage forever

9 days out from PBW tampa Pro.. Since I decided last minute to do this show first, I may be at my peak the folloiwing wknd for dallas Europa!! But just getting nerves broken on a Pro stage is my main reasoning for tampa.
No cardio at all this prep .. Hate that. it helps keep me "sane" LOL

yes.. thank you . A comment was made by judges that they dont want many striations in figure girls legs, so I have been trying to "thicken" them up. cut out leg extensions and been bombing heavy squats and leg presses.. here was Team U.. I love training legs but have a hard time getting them bigger.. Work in progress.

No striations in legs? I just can't keep up with what they want I don't know how the girls do it. So now figure is bikini but girls that actually workout and wpd is what figure used to be and bb is still bb. Too much going on my heads spinning.

Agreed, somewhat.. Figure looks far from bikini and more than just girls that workout i.m.o.
I hate how they were leaning to the "softer" look! Like girls only train their upper bodies!!! It takes alot more work for striations thatn big soft legs..
But gotta do what you gotta do to hang!!

Yeah that's what I'll do! I try not to flex my shoulders too much because they get striations too. I've heard judges say figure shouldnt have striations. It's hard to put body fat on me

5'2 is my cutoff height typically. Idk, tough call. I like both looks but the old one defiantly is not shabby at all ;) and the arms weren't bad at 90 lbs. it's petite sized :)

Well I like me alot better now!! i wasnt healthy then. ate like a bird, drained. Im strong now and prefer muscles >skinny anyday!!

width factor? dunno bout that but sounds awesome. lol

"Laurie in addition to the support given by the IFBB section posters, I would like to contribute. This is a world first here, I have calculated your width factor, there was a thread about this a while ago whereby the true width of an athelete could be calculated. The pixel count for your height has been divided by the pixel count for your width (side delt insertions.))

Your are the first woman in the world as far as I am aware to have a width factor. You are a 3.632 (231 wide by 839 tall). The lower the number the wider the athelete, if you were not wearing heals you would have a stronger width factor.

Current Mr Olympia Phil Heath came out as follows.

Phil Heath = 2.7718 (355 wide x 984 tall)

Good luck in your next show, maybe knowing your width factor will help."

So i made diet changes for Tampa Pro trying to come in fuller which i think back fired and I held water.. Back to what i did for Team U. I plan to bring a better oackage for Dallas Europa this saturday. 1st pics are Team U second Tampa. anyone chime in, critique..

My goal is to keep improving each show! I have to grow more to place better and I can't do that in 3 days or 2 weeks! Top 10 is awesome for my first pro shows! It's a whole new ball game now & I only been training 1 1/2 yrs so all I can do is keep crushing it and bring my best each show! 2013 it's ON!! Under construction!

Gotta be honest, My mind is already in off season mode. So ready and determined to get where I need to be. Im doing Valenti gold cup sept 7 i Sarasota as my last show this season. Its been an amazing yr! 7 shows, 3 pro shows in only 2 months of winning pro card.


It's hard going from always winning to being the newbie and not placing as well as i would like! But I know it's just a matter of time and I will get there.
I actually want to sit out the valenti gold but everyone from here is going to see me so Im going to do it. I'm not negative, Im realistic. It's a diff ball game as a pro. Its clear what i need to work on but it wont happen in a month. building muscle takes time. Im happy to have won my pro card with only a year of competing o training. I gotta grow.. It will be done! working on patience.,


I havent been strict n my diet. eating clean as always. but when i want a bit of extra oats and peanut butter, I've been having it. Training my ass off always.. Just gonna have FUN this show!! Not stressing over it. Mind is on off season and 2013
Erin will take the show and I am stoked to be on stage with her.

Long cardio will break down muscle. I prefer HIIT.. sprints are GREAT for building size!! spinning is great too. I throw in stair master and elliptical some. the stairs def help my glutes..
Hit legs HARD. Heavy squats and go LOW.. Leg press and squats are the bread and butter.

Thanks! Yes this is helpful. I knew it but it helps to hear it (or read it) again. Just because I enjoy my 30 minute runs, doesn't mean it is consistent with my goals of building that sweep! I will stick to the sprints and my spin bike. My treadmill is a free motion and goes up to a 40% incline which hits the glutes and hams... Will keep at it. I will be at the Easterns Nov 3rd! I eat the same thing everyday. i prefer it that way. Im in off season and eating the same as contest minus a meal but the same foods. i love chicken/fish/rice etc so it is no biggie for me. I've been eating this way for so long that it's routine.

I've oly been training since Jan 2011. that's when I started competing. I eat alot all clean. Lots of Jasmine rice, sirloin, chicken, oats. etc. I dont eat cheat meals. i get sick. Maybe a twix or reeces occasionally . Fav exercise is SQUATS by far..
biggest hurdle has been getting all the food in at first. I went from eating 3 times a day to 6-8 times. Im used to it now ad hungry every 2 hrs.

Thx girl!!

Got busted by my training partner. Am only allowed to walk as slow as a turtle but i couldnt resist and ended up doing some glute exercises. right as Im in the middle of a set my training partner busted me. LOL

So back to walking a few more days and I'm thinking by wed Ill begin light legs-extensions, curls, lunges and calves.
going to be another 2 weeks before upper body :( ugh

I hope my body responds well to the break, my shoulders have shrunk.

Cant get heart rate up too much. Already lost 3 lbs since Fri. Lowered my cars to under 100 grams for a few days. plan to start increasing then back to HIGH carb when can lift.

post surgery update. Still havent lifted. 2 weeks. Dr Wed but I plan to start light on monday and back on my creatine select! :) Adjusted my diet while I havent been able to train but lost 7 lbs in 8 days just doing walks but low carb. so back to my high carb/cal diet. gotta eat to grow. Have a great weekend.,

biggest smile I've had in 3 weeks I've been down. :) I ended up doing legs 2 times am and pm.. cant walk so that means mission accomplished.
today is back day. Im not allowed to deadlift yet but Im watchng the clock ready to crush it

That is a freakin' awesome place to be! And since you have been off from training you are gonna grow like a weed! You probably feel small with the lack of extra circulation from lack of training. It will come right back. Take some measurements so you can see the numbers go up while your BF stays the same! Love doing that to keep me motivated while I grow!

So Dr did thyroid test yesterday. I get very sick,shaky, weak,headaches if i havent ate in 2 hrs. i can barely make it 2 hrs and This is after I've had 3,5 etc meals. not like i hadnt ate all day. . he says hypoglacemic/anemic and or hyper thyroid. Hoping i dont have that and its just my crazy metabolism.
isnt diabetes like my dad and gma have real bad thank God.
having a very hard time gaining wt. (and eating a very high cal/high carb diet.)

no matter what it is, I will overcome. The best is yet to come and Im more determined than EVER. Olympia 2013 :)

Got offered to be paid a good amount of money to bash other IFBB Pro's.. NO, I will NOT do this!! I have much respect for everyone in this industry and won't stoop to such levels!! Thanks but no thanks. I like to lift people up not bring them down!!




this guy wanted me to call in to a radio show of some sort and have a "bash session" 2 times a week!! sad thing is someone will do it! :hypno:

Props to you for not doing this. It disgusts me when athletes bash each other.

In this industry or not , I would NEVER do this to ANYONE! No one is above or better than anyone else! Who are we to judge? Life is not only about being the best me that I can be, It's also about helping to inspire/ motivate others to be the best they can be! stay true to yourself, values and morals!
I'm just being real! Being me! I mean who would do this? To come up with this idea is pathetic! I let him know how I felt about it that's for sure :hypno:

I freakin' LOVE dragon flags! Still trying to work up to them. So far I can bang out a few sets of negatives...sigh. But still I keep plugging away and will not stop until I have mastered them! Much respect!
