Ciao Doc. I'm actually returning to your country in a few weeks. I've got some airline miles burning a hole in my pocket so I'm heading back to Rome for a few days to relax. Looking forward having my wife get mauled by aggressive Roman men :p

I know you're a little further north but how has the weather been this winter? I'm hoping for 50s-60s.

Interesting. I haven't met a lot of Sardinian-Americans.

Mother - Sicilian (I don't know the town)
Father - Abruzzese (L'Aquila)

Neither have I. None of my father's side of the family came here. I want to go there, but I know if I do, I most likely will not come back.

Winter was long and cold this time and we've had the snow very often in the last two months....now we have sun and cold at the north but in the South is snowed too! but as you know, the weather here in Italy can improve very fast......don't worry....;)
Rome is fantastic......great choice.........

I'm saddened as part of my family was from L'Aquila. We were in Rome only a couple of weeks prior to the quake and were going to take a day to see the town but ended up doing something else. I'm sorry now that I didn't.

It was like a bomb. A true hell for the people that are living scared out from all their houses...... 50% of the houses are totally destroyed.....20% to rebuild a part......yes, they lived a real hell........

Hey CocGabri
when is the best time to visit Milan?

I could say in winter...it's cold and foggy but if you like to go to shopping in the city-center near to the Dome....it's really great watching all the lighting boutiques and lights everywhere. Or you could go in spring time when the sun and the heat are not so hard as in summer

Grandparents from Fornelli, Province of Isernia, Molise region.
They came to the US after the turn of the century and settled in Warwick, RI.
They helped others from Fornelli settle in the Warwick area where many of the descendants still live in the same neighborhoods!
