How about some views on how to make sure you are doing your training intensely enough?

I can imagine several ways to define intensity, like feeling as though you will throw up, sweating your ass off, huffing like a 5 pack a day smoker, or just a feeling of intense fatigue after the workout is over, etc. I am not sure how intense I am training, but would like some advice to make sure I do!

You just feel it, or for me it is the feel. Its that pump and the way your body responds to what you are doing. Almost euphoric. Out of body mind muscle feel. Its hard to put in words but when its kicking in you will know!!!

Mike, if you lift as I have described in other threads, you'll be lifting intesely. Pushing your muscle to growth-stimulating limits is purely a mental effort. How you feel afterwards varies from person to person, from workout to workout, and set to set. The proof of intensity is GROWTH!!! And that's growth in strength, stamina, and size.

I think it's working then!

Here is the guy who got me to work harder on my biceps. I wish he came to the Y earlier so I could train with him every day! He works like a maniac at the gym.

He is a cool guy and can lift mind boggling amounts of weight.

He is always on my ass about how I should stop trying to lose weight.
