Who here wears gloves? I am pretty new to this style of lifting but am doing quite well and enjoy it far more than bodybuilding. I'm just wondering what's more common among powerlifters as far as gloves go. I have never used them but now by the time I finish back and bis my hands are ripped to hell. Anyone else have this problem starting out? It wasn't a problem until my deads moved up in weight. The calouses ripped right off the past two weeks or so during the final sets of deadlifts. Anyways, just looking for some advice. I don't really like the idea of gloves but may have to. Thanks!:beerbang:

no gloves....

if you have callouses that tear off, shave them. and carry super glue or nuskin.

NO GLOVES if you're powerlifting, you can't use them in comp so why train with them. Ripped up hands it's a battle scar that you should be proud of, just like bruises on your arms from your bench shirt

I bought a Ped-egg or whatever it's called at Wal-Mart for 10 bucks. Obviously it's meant for feet, but it works great for my callouses.

I couldn't even imagine how much shit I would get from everyone I lift with if I showed up to a workout with gloves

Don't lie to him Cave-Man, YOU ARE A SALLY Bigbull

joking, gloves don't make you a sally, but seriously don't wear them if you're training them for powerlifting

I always say if your hands aren't bleeding by the end of the workout, lift more. So no gloves.

No gloves, I just use chalk.

As for your calluses, use sandpaper to keep the edges from tearing and you'll be fine.

No gloves, but I will use them sometimes for the last set of flyes or curls because I have the habit of trying to 'juice' the bar and my hands go numb.
