Hey Carl,

why the modesty? This was one of the best shows ever and I think it is a must-hear episode for everyone.

There are so many aspects of cancer research we athletes can take advantage of. Everyone can profit from supplements like ginger-extract, melatonin, folic acid, curcuma and much more.

We always have to keep in mind that cancer is a systemic illness - not the small tumor in our stomachs or your brains. Operations and chemotherapies are rarely a long lasting solution. Studies say that 80% of oncologists wouldn't treat their family with chemotherapy. But you know - there is a lot of money to be made.

Thanks again for spreading this vital information. :)

I'd like to see the studies you're referring to. Are they reputable medical or scientific studies or are they some cancer curing, supplement BS company that's trying to hock their snake oil?
Please post links.

@SpeedoGuido:

just for example:

Kroiss, Dr. med. Thomas: Heilungschancen bei Krebs. P. 174. 042008, Munich.

Landenberger, Dr. med. Martin: Bioimmuntherapie - Modell zur Krebsbehandlung: Eine stressbedingte chronisch-entzündliche Mitochondriopathie. 042009, Leffler.

I don't know if the sources are any help to you. It depends how good your German is. ;) Believe me, I wouldn't use any statistics of supplement companies, because my mother's life is on the line.

Don't get me wrong. There are certain types of cancer, where chemotherapy does often work, for example testicle cancer. But sadly that is not the case with other forms like stomach cancer.

The easiest thing to do is to look at survival rates with or without chemotherapy. Then you can develop your own opinion.

I can't read German, and I'm not trying to change your position on chemotherapy.
You made the claim that "Studies say that 80% of oncologists wouldn't treat their family with chemotherapy."
I would think you could provide solid evidence of that claim. After all, 80% of oncologists is an overwhelming majority. I googled that outrageous statistic and found nothing to back it up.
My post has nothing to do with my opinion of chemo, I sincerely wanted to see solid evidence of that amazing statistic.

For the record my opinion of chemotherapy is, to put it simply,
it depends on the situation & the risk to benefit ratio.

BTW, both my parents are cancer survivors, my brother in law is battling cancer, and I've lost several friends to cancer.
My best friend is cancer free after three stem cell transplants which included chemo. First he tried all the natural treatments with no luck, (Glyco Nutrients, Fido Nutrients, Colonics), and spent hundreds of thousands flying to Israel, Utah, and Mexico for treatments.

I did a quick Google search for survival rates with or without chemotherapy
and the first few things that pop up are:

Chemotherapy Plus Radiotherapy
After Stomach Cancer Surgery
Increase Survival

Keep your pearls for those who really want and appreciate it House. No matter what you say the "non believers" will always put their Doctors on a high pedestal and look upon them like GODS. Doctors can and will do no wrong in most people's eyes. No matter how many of their patients they kill and/or harm on a daily bases.

Two of my aunts (on separate occasions) died from chemotherapy treatments. One of my Aunts had the complexion of Halle Berry but after ONLY 3 chemo treatments she had the skin tone of Wesley Snipes. They both had cervical cancer and after having hysterectomies and receiving chemo they both died shortly afterwards. My first Aunt died after her 5th treatment and my second Aunt died an hour after getting her 8th treatment. My silly family response would be "The Lord was ready to bring them home!" But as a child I knew better. This is probably why I'm the black sheep of the family now because I use my common sense and not all that religious mumbo jumbo!!!!

When I was diagnosed with cervical cancer years later I was at stage three and was told I would die within 6 months if I didn't get the same thing. I told that doctor to kiss my ass! I rather die peacefully in my home than in pain and misery on a hard cold hospital bed.

Long story short, an herbalist helped me and I was cured naturally. When I went back to my Doctor TWICE to get retested he were speechless and sent me to many other doctors for retesting. Finally out of frustration they all stated that the cancer was gone but it would come back. Which is bullshit!!!!

That happened in 1991. Here it is 2009 and not only am I STILL cancer free but I have out lived two of those Doctors who claimed that I wouldn't make it passed 1992. One died of a hard attack and the other died from colon cancer.

I would think you could provide solid evidence of that claim
I gave you two sources of leading cancer scientists.

Anyway, there is much more to this topic than some studies from Google.

I really don't want to convince anyone. I just wanted to commend Carl for this fantastic show. I wish there were more people like him...

my brother in law is battling cancer
All the best for your brother-in-law! I hope he will win this battle.

Sad but true. They only solution is to take things into your own hands and find the treatment that works for you.

The worst thing is that after these chemotherapies the body is too destroyed even for alternative treatments...

Cool! :p I am so happy for you and I commend your courage. Well done!

One last thing: Why don't people opt for an hollistic approach? Why does it always have to be biased?

Two sources out of several thousand scientists is hardly 80%.
You are totally misrepresenting my post.... all I ask is to see evidence of that statistic.
Can you provide that, or is it a number you concocted because you thought it sounded impressive???
The issue is not whether or not you, me, or anyone is in favor of chemo treatments.... I'm curious as to where you found this staggering statistic.
This is not a debate on conventional medicine versus holistic medicine..... believe it or not you'd be surprised on how I feel about that. I'll bet even you would think I'm a crackpot!

Go tot pubmed.com and search Gingerol and tumor or Gingerol and cancer or Gingerol and lymphoma. I'm not being a dick but there are literally hundreds of studies - current months and back a decade. All form reputable institutions and peer reviewed. Let me know your thoughts after you look at some.
