GirlyMuscle,
There are tons of companies that can set up websites for a reasonable price. I can help save you some money by doing your artwork for you, that way you do not have to worry about design expenses. All you'll need is someone to take it live and host it.

This is my online portfolio:

www.artandathletes.com

It has not been updated in an eternity but it is just an example of a 3 page layout, that was entirely my creation, layout, verbiage, colors, theme and graphics. I hired Heritage Web Solutions to take it live. It cost me a flat rate of $500 (which it shouldn't have, and you CAN find someone to set it up for a fraction of that). I pay about 29.99 a month for hosting. If my memory serves me right, it cost me $500 because I wanted a running slide on the Arena page rather than a static page. Static pages with no flash cost much less.

So if you need my help, please do not hesitate to ask.

I know Andy from AMG designs sites for the girls he works with for free. If you set up a shoot with him and have him design your site for you, he will basically take care of maintenance, backup and updates etc by making a percentage off everything your website makes in terms of membership sales etc. That is why he does not charge you anything to set it up. I might be mistaken but I think he makes somewhere around 15%.

I am not familiar with Colette's work but I am sure she does an excellent job with as creative as she is. Does she offer discounted rates to set up sites for staff on RX? Just wondering..

You will have to pay a little something to set it up in the beginning. It will save you alot of headches down the road.

I think I've heard of people using godaddy.com to design simple websites themsleves. You can always find a college kid who would love to make some cash on the side on some of the web development online forums. Lots of kids advertise on those forums. I had a kid help me out with html coding of Vbulletin when I was admin on Elitefreakz. That board is gone now. God he was SUCH an asshole though...but hey, he was cheap.

My adult website cost me $7500 but it has a system that allows me to make my own updates and it has live audio visual streaming with no lag. Pretty sweet. It costs me fortune to host as well. RT are great designers and do a pretty good job if you ever want a little more animation or flash. They will design sites for anything, not just adult so if you feel like dropping some money on a great site, RT is the way to go.

Hope some of this was helpful.

There are TONS of website options now. Literally. There are do it yourself sites that have interactive designers that allow YOU to be in full control of your website. www.web.com offers this service for examples. There's even do it yourself flash design sites now: www.sitecube.com

If you want something professionally done there's a ton of options again. I'd map out what you want your website to do before shopping for a web designer if you want to go that route. Do you want to sell anything? Have a members only? Just looking for a basic web design? Want to offer webcam options etc? After you know what you want from your site start looking around for sites you like the look of so you can provide those examples to your designer. I'd also be sure to chose someone who's GREAT with graphics because I've see PLENTY of sites "done by a professional" that look like shit because the designer is horrible with graphics.

I've heard that RT web designs does great work although they're very costly.

This is great. Between SallyAnne doing the flash and me working on the graphics, you are just about set. Now we need a volunteer to take it live.

I can do that, too - but I'd rather she have ownership of the hosting/url. I just need the ftp info.

Or is web design a hobby?

I used to do it for a living, then went into business for myself with my own website in 1997 and started making enough money to stop creating websites for others. I sold my company in 2001 and just never got back into web development because I'd lost all my old contacts. The first big site I ever did was coldwell banker in 1996. Most of my other site designs were for smaller, local companies.

Your site is very comprehensive and easily navigated.

PayPal links for your store, a great photo gallery, bio, contact info, and a gentle request for eligible sponsors. :)

Wishing you success! Who was the friend who set it up originally? I mean, how much of that is Colette and how much is the original designer. Just to say kudos to those involved. There are some godawful sites out there and yours isn't one of them. :beerbang:

It's simple but in a good way. Ease of navigation is key. You've got great content, of course, and it's visually appealing. Well done.

Truth.

It's a link to HerBiceps and that's it. Is your email or a spam-catcher email even on that page, GM? :(

For $25 you can have a register.com site if you just want a vanity thing that will offer you place for pics and text: http://curtjames.com/

Edit: Urgh. Dead link city. :(

Thanks a ton, ladies!

I don't have any content for it yet but I will in a couple of months. I have my domain name and it's currently hosted by godaddy for free so it's a very basic one page thing at the moment.

I would like to be able to add pics and video myself so I don't have to go through another party. I also would like a journal or blog of some sort.

I know little to nothing about web development. I wanted to take a course a while back to get a basic understanding of it but never did. The money web developers make working the online adult industry is sick. You should get back into it...read this book:

I actually did an adult website once - it was a lot of fun to do since I was used to real estate and restaurant websites. lol That's where I learned to set up a membership area and the ins and outs of payment processing.

I first heard about it from my uncle who has a George Reeves fan site. He's the actor who portrayed the 50's Superman.

Your graphics rock! I have the banners on my web page. :beerbang:
