Gloves are for pussies. Yeah, you heard me, meow meow.

Nothing but cold naked steel, grime, blood, sweat and chalk on this bitches hands.

How hard do you boys play?

This is how I roll :wavey:

What about you?

Meow meow meow. I always wear gloves because I don't want hands like that. No offense of course...just a personal preference.

I understand, girlfriend. No offense taken. Just remember, this is the strength training forum, a tad bit different than bikini.

Your hands are unlikely to ever end up like mine.... with or without them gloves, sugar. ;)

I must be weird because I don't wear gloves, but my hands don't get that callused, but then again I havn't been to my hardcore gym recently, I've gotten most of my workouts done at an XSport Fitness (the worst bars ever, I hope I bend all of them)

That is typically what they look like on a daily basis after lifting. Some days are worse than others of course. I posted pictures in my journal of my legs and you can see the scarring on both my shins.

But you will never see me out with my husband or at work with my hands looking like that. I am still very much a lady and clean up like one when I have to.

I agree with the italian.
I never use gloves but my hands don't really get that beat up... even after farmers walk and deads.

Mine look similar but not that bad. When I get my nails done, I have the tech use the drill thing on my callouses, they vanish, nice & soft! The ones just under my rings are the worst (yes I lift w/ jewelry on).

gloves are for chumps!

I have callouses but they never bleed. I pick them off when they get thick enough. Then again I'm not a strength athlete. I always say my muscles are looker muscles. They don't do anything.

I always say my muscles are looker muscles. They don't do anything. I'm totally stealing that! I love when someone asks me to flex but hate when they squeeze em, *slush*.

"They're just for looks," that's my new line.

Hey girlz! So nice to see more girlies in here :)
I cannot get rid of my calluses, unfortunately. I will shave them down using the diamond patterned grip of the Olympic bar that has a bite to it, but that's about it. I need them for cushion and support. My palms hurt if I shave them down too much. I just try to make sure they don't have any hanging edges that can get caught and rip the callus right off. That hurts like a bitch. And what's worse is that coach has no sympathy for ripped calusses or torn shins. If you're bleeding, your ass is going to suck it up. The only time he is sympathetic and will allow you to cut your training short is if you have a injury. Anything wrong with your back, shoulders or knees and coach is on the phone making appointments to send you to every specialist he knows to fix you. He's a good man and a great mentor.

You guys are making me feel all rugged and nasty :(

And here I was thinking y'all were going to post some pictures and make me look like such a girl. The kind of responses I was expecting were more along the lines of: " Oh Sistersteel you are such a cry baby, check out the exposed bones in my hands bitch"..or "Look at my patchwork Sistersteel, I glued my hand back together".. or some other disturbing shit like that.

I must be far more fragile than I thought I was. lol
