Newest data suggests smoking elevates myostatin levels, which would result in less muscle. Post workout effects? Dont know...

Nicotine works well at nutrient partitioning

I've read that nicotine causes shrinkage to coronary blood vessels in chronic smokers, that in itself would seem to be quite a detriment to those seeking athletic performance. The guys smoking them back in the venice days may have been using them to merely unwind from, after completing their workouts..

I'm sorry to bump this thread, but, what's the effect of nicotine while using AAS?
I remember watching a video were the guy smoked while being ON.
Wouldn't that harm the gains? Increase the chances of heart attacks and such?

Nicotine decreases sperm production and so do AAS. When used together, this is a concern.

Interesting. I was wondering about the effect it would have on gains while being ON, like I mentioned, I watched this video were the guy smoked a lot and still got a good physique, but it makes me wonder about all the risks on his health.

Yes, smoking is unhealthy and check out Dr. Pangloss' post on this that nicotine increases myostatin and therefore decreases muscle gains.

You mean increases myostatin...if it decreased myostatin then every bodybuilder would smoke. But nicotine is awful, I quit chewing and its the hardest thing to give up.

I don't think people want to smoke, but rather people become addicted to
nicotine. It is the most addictive substance on earth.
