I want to cut my own music. I'm not layering songs together or anything complicated. I just want to take a song and cut the beginning and end. Can anyone tell me how to do that? What program could I use?

Also, is there a way to take say 70 seconds of a song and somehow speed it up so it will fit into 60 seconds?

Thanks Gang!

There are quite a few programs that do that. I used to be a DJ when I was younger and the best "free" programs to do that are Cool Edit and Goldwave. There is also the option of "speeding up" the clip to make it fit a certain time frame but it will end up sounding like chipmunks OR it will sound like the original except with less than perfect sound quality that is very unprofessional and will sound even worse on loud speakers at the show.

I thought you meant music with which to cut with. As in cardio. I was about to suggest porn music "ka-chika-waka-chika-waka-chika-waka-chika-wow-wow-wow".

Its easy.....Christian does it all the time. I have no idea how but I can ask him.

Just Google "Audacity". It's a free open source music editing program with lots of free plug-ins.
