Just a heads up on the Masters Nationals for July 2013. If you intend to get to this show, be sure to make your hotel reservation at the Sheraton Station Square by February. There were 700 competing at the show (the Teen, Collegiate & Masters Nationals) in 2012 & it's likely it will be closer to 800 competing at the 2013 show. It seems like promoter Gary Udit has more pro cards available every year, & people who didn't have this show on their radar now do. Don't wait!

800 competitors is mind blowing. Sometimes I feel really sorry for the judges, not very often though. lol

Our own Peter Finch has been in a 719 day countdown to recapture his Title and this time a Pro Card is at hand.

I don't see any other 70 year old out there who could challenge him now that I am in total retirement.

800 competitors that is just too many yes I really do not usually feel sorry for judges but with that many competitors there is a greater chance of more errors in judging unless one is just so much better than every one else.

I did this show last year. Was very well run. Hotel was great. Met all the competitors needs. Looking forward to it this year as well! :)

Peter Finch will be our own Nationals Over 70 Pro Card winner this year. He is in better shape than when he kicked my ass 3 years ago age 70.

Check him out (and his new lady)

Word is the final numbers of the contest (not including crossovers) is 770+. That's well over last year & proof that this is truly the Nationals for the over 35 crowd. I will not be there in person, sadly. But will be there in spirit.

Mike Yablon proves it once again: don't take a freaky build to the Masters Nats. You will not win. You need a completely integrated build where no body part sticks out or calls attention to itself. That is what the judges give the top award there.
