Mr. America / Mr. World Bill Grant hits a double biceps!
Oh, yeah, and there’s some other bodybuilder on the right, too. ;)

I can't think of a better event to attend than a competition put together by Bill Grant. He's a former Mr. World, Mr. America, and an emcee who puts on one hell of a show! Check it out if you're able to. See you there!

It was bizarre for sure Drex....the lighting was terrible and the competitors were complaining the stage was burning their feet. It was HOT out.... not sure if it's always been like that, held outside, as this was the first year I went, but I couldn't see the appeal at all from a competitors standpoint.

Curt good job on labelin the pics...

This was the fourth year for the event. I know it was outside last year. Don't know about the first two years but I assume they were held outdoors, too.

I wish I had thought to write down the singer's name. And all the competitors. There really should be a freaking program for events. Baseball has programs with names, stats, etc. Why not bodybuilding and Figure?

Next year I'm pesting Bill for a "press pass." That'd just amount to an official license to say, "Excuse me, can I have your name for a news release?"

I wonder if anyone was there reporting. They had several photographers on hand. Recognized Jim Wilmer of Adonis Productions from previous shows.

Photos are important, of course, but some text in the local paper would really be a boost for the competitors.

They had one group step back into what little shade was available on stage.

Grant, on his Web site, stated that the outdoor thing was to harken back to the days of Muscle Beach and outdoor competitions from the Golden Age.

I think, in theory, it makes a lot of sense, but in actuality...eh not so much.

Venice Beach CA during one of bodybuilding's heights is one thing. Somehow the same effect doesn't result from Allentown PA. lol.

The outdoors location looks really attractive to me and I like the concept.

A 3 or 4-foot wide strip of carpet on the stage where the competitors stand would help a lot with the heat problem and would make it more comfortable. Just tack the carpet down for the show and then remove it when the show is over.
