More than $250,000 worth of steroids has been seized by the Canadian Border Services Agency in Halifax.

A Halifax man, Greg Doucette, has been arrested and charged with possessing, smuggling, importing, trafficking and distributing steroids.

The investigation started in Vancouver after the packages, destined for Halifax, were intercepted.

A search of the suspect's home, car and a storage locker in Halifax netted the drugs, distribution material and more than $23,000 in cash.

He judged my last show years ago. I used to see him in the gym I train at on occasion. He seemed like a good guy and I know he use to help train others. Hopefully this doesn't ruin his life and he'll get through this.

Yes, things are a little different here. There is no charge for simple possession, but there is for Traffiking or intent to traffic, as well as importation and manufacturing. So as long as you can magically get it into your possession , I believe you're ok.

As for the 2 year investigation,.. I doubt they were watching him specifically for two years, but intercepted the first package they are tracing to him two years ago. Regardless, it's very unfortunate as he is a pretty good competitor, and they pretty much nail you to the cross in the media. There are much worst things to splash over the front page of the paper.

They seized two packs of raws from what I read and somehow valued them at 5k each. Umm.. I don't know any raws that are valued at that, primos about a fifth of that so unless he had methyltrienolone that's the only way those numbers are even remotely close. Looks like the rest of the gear was in his storage garage (obviously a bad move to have that in your name..) and the cash and the car.

It's unfortunate but I don't feel bad for the guy at all. It's unfortunate he is a dumbass. Honestly get a job. We all work, it's part of life. Join the human race and normal society and get a damn job.

I also don't feel bad because most of these guys selling that much are scumbags. When you get deep into the drug trafficking culture 1. most of them are selling a lot more than steroids and 2. you just get corrupted and turn into a scumbag human being.


I may get flamed for this but honestly it's bust after bust and it's getting pathetic. We should siphon these guys out of the sport.

that's a more than fair point s2h. More than fair. And it makes me want to be clearer about my post.

first off I've never met a bodybuilder who is knee deep in selling steroids that isn't a criminal far deeper than slinging some UG gear. Literally every one I've known with ZERO exception has been a recreational and prescription drug abuser and dealer. And I'd wager 50% have been involved in violent crimes many being domestic issues.

So human nature and my bias makes me look down on them based on the odds of them actually being a "stand up guy". The second issue is with ZERO exception all the people I know of who relied on selling for their finances were so stupid about it. Driving around corvettes, buying 350K condos with no claimed revenue.

So my man your right...I was harsh and it's my bais based on passed experience. If he got busted for selling a bit to a friend or for his personal use you'd hear nothing from me negative.

columbus is getting the worst bodybuilding reputation ever! you've got guys getting arrested for armed robbery, bodybuilding slinging coke and heroin and beating up their wives. It never ends here man!

To be fair though it's not just bodybuilders. There are some big time strength/power-lifting gyms around here even beyond west side barbell and it's amazing to me some of them haven't been caught up in huge busts yet.
