Hey all,
I am a 19 year old female on the Palumbo diet (for females +130 lbs). I am doing this to lose stubborn fat around my waist. I am quite thin- but my waist is the first place I gain weight and the last place I lose it. I have beenon the diet for 2 weeks (and loving it).
I do fasted cardio 6 times a week from 45 minutes - 60 minutes and I do weights 5 times a week in the evenings.
In the very first week my waist went from 32 inches to 30.5 inches. I couldn't believe it, but the second week I went back up 32 inches?

Im not sure if this is normal or if I am doing someting wrong? ANy help would be greatly appreciated :)

Was this just a single measurement for the 32? Waist measurements can vary a lot depending. Sorry for being gross but if you haven't had a bowel movement in a bit your waist can be bigger. Some days you hold more water than others. Some people I have a hard time getting them out of the habit of weighing themselves daily because it ends up frustrating since things can fluctuate day to day.

So what I'm getting at, is that the 32" is where it's staying over multiple days (like a week) or was it just a single measurement?

It was only a single measurement. Should I be measuring myself on a day to day basis to be more accurate?

go with what the mirror is telling you and how your clothes are fitting. People really get caught up with weighing themselves and trying to take measurements, and like Frosty stated, there are many variables...especially with women. If you stick to the diet as its laid out and just make little adjustments with the cardio every week, you will get the results you are looking for.

Check again soon. See if it comes back down. For now I wouldn't be at all concerned.

Make sure you're doing what's needed for proper bowel movements (walking is great, getting enough salt, eating enough fat in the diet, and getting in enough fiber and water).

I have not been taking any fiber supplements. Is it necessary that I take this? I haven't had problems without it.

Not necessary. There are benefits, but I don't have much of an issue with people not using it so long as you eat veggies.

Well Im only eating the green salad in meal # 5, with apple cider vinegar.

I'd eat more low carb veggies than that. Stuff like broccoli florets are awesome, and spinach is super rich in nutrients and very low carb.

okay good to know! I will probably go buy some metamucil tomorow anyways though. Thanks for your help.

I'd rather see someone eat more spinach and broccoli than use metamucil.

Well my green 'salad" is all baby spinach.

Cool but I still say more veggies is better than metamucil :)

Yes, more green veggies. But like Frosty said, there are some benefits to the fiber supplement as well.
