I love to use DBs for chest. DB flat bench, DB incline bench and etc. I get a better pump and squeeze when i use DBs then use a barbell.. Heres the problem.

We all know that you can put 500 plus on a barbell, my gym only has DBs that go to 125. I have see a utube vid of this guy who taped 10s to each side of the DB. so i will never have a issue with adding weight.

What do you guys do whgen 125 isnt enuff?

next question. i got a guest pass at this old gym and the the gym, its got great machines for back and delts. It kinds reminds me of BEVs in NY. but the DBS only go up to 100 and they are rounded.'

Pre-exhaust, do db flys first then do your pressing movements. You could also do dropsets. Just my thoughts.

Like the poster above mentioned, pre-exhaust (I would do barbell movements however) and then finish up with dumbbells at the end.

Hammer Strength machines are also a great alternative.

I would pre exhaust with flies, or start with Hammer Strength machines to isolate and tire out your chest a bit, then go to compound movements

Heres the problem. i agree with the db workouts, the db's are great isolation workouts and def prefer them vs. barbell workouts, but i like to switch it up everynow and then though. the bb exercises tend to incorporate others muscles (secondary muscles) to help assist with the lifts.

I have see a utube vid of this guy who taped 10s to each side of the DB. so i will never have a issue with adding weight. you may want to try that or try a different style of training. try switching around your workout order (ie. if incline db was your first exercise, try that as your last exercise).

i think 125 is plenty, unless your a pro bodybuilder...if 125 is too easy for you, you may have the form wrong or you aren't doing enough reps. my gym goes up to 200lb db's and those were only used by ronnie coleman himself.

next question. i got a guest pass at this old gym and the the gym, its got great machines for back and delts. It kinds reminds me of BEVs in NY. but the DBS only go up to 100 and they are rounded.' try doing circuit training and see if you still feel the db's to be too light, not meaning this as an insult, but i thought the same way in the past and switched alot of things up.

bodybuilding is all about how much you LOOK like you can lift, proper form and fatigueing the muscle, not how much you CAN lift.
