View Full Version : Ronnie Coleman Arrested for Impersonating a Police Officer! RUMOR???
huge285

According to one of my sources, he said that RONNIE COLEMAN was just on the local news for being arrested in Texas for impersonating a police officer.
According to this source, "I made a couple of phone calls and the scoop is he was speeding and pulled out his police badge, but as of a few months ago he left the Arlington Police Department on bad terms, and the arresting officer called him out on it. He is set to see a judge tomorrow."
Whether this is TRUTH or RUMOR remains to be seen!

not trying to pick a fight, but why should they just let me him go? In BBing Ronnie may be a rockstar, but outside in the real world he is a nobody. If anything considering the hard on people have for steroid users they may go tougher on him because of his obvious drug use. Punish him for one thing since they really cant for the other.

It's speeding. If he wasn't doing two million MPH in a school zone then who gives a f***?
So far as impersonating an officer goes, did he simply flash a badge while also showing his license and registration or did he say, "I am an officer in fast pursuit, GTFO, Officer Nobody, I have a job to do!"?
Anyway, it's just a rumor. Or has there been an update or verification?

I will say I am a huge Ronnie Coleman fan. I will also say that if it is true, I'm really let down.
Not about the impersonating an officer, but about the speeding and the fact that officers letting other officers go. Officer or not, if you are caught speeding, you get a ticket. I don't get speeding tickets. WHY? I DON'T SPEED!
If people who speed did the math, they'd never speed again as well, but most who speed are idiotic at the least. Your average travel from point A to point B takes most people 20 minutes. Let's say they average 60 mph. You'll get to your destination in 20 minutes.
Now lets say you speed they are doing and average of 70mph. They will arrive at the destination in 17.1 minutes.
Now lets say they are doing an average of 80mph. They will arrive at the destination in 15 minutes.
Now obviously these are all based on averages. For most cities you'd have to get up to 100mph at times to average 80mph.
So what you are doing is risking your life and possibly my families because you want to get to your destination 5 minutes earlier (at best)? The stupidity of speeding idiots astounds me.

Badges can be purchased from many places....but typically an officer who has been an officer for any length of time will have several badges...they issue them for jackets, etc....and they lose track of how many they give...or if they design a new one, a lot of officers will keep their old one....LOTS of ways to have a badge....

Thats great that you typically dont speed...but I am sure you do/have at times for various reasons...but nonetheless...police officers do issue warnings at times....trust me, as a citizen, you would not want police officers to be nothing but "black and white/letter of the law...HERE is your ticket"...SO...if a police officer pulls over 20 persons....and issues 10 tickets and 10 warnings (if we can say that they have SOME discretion to do so)....then why then if they pull another police officer over do they HAVE to write them a ticket JUST BECAUSE they are a police officer....why cant they have some discretion and issue the police officer a warning?????? A fellow officer that countless times has put themselves at risk to help citizens and other officers...possibly even the one that pulled him over...
It is not police officers jobs to "ticket" people...it is their job to make the community safer.....traffic patrol is one of those functions....not every violation deserves a citation though it may warrant being stopped and warned..if it appears a warning fits the violation....

According to this source, "I made a couple of phone calls and the scoop is he was speeding and pulled out his police badge, but as of a few months ago he left the Arlington Police Department on bad terms, and the arresting officer called him out on it."
The key words here are "left on bad terms". Many departments present "retired" or "auxillary" badges to former officers. But IF Ronnie "left on bad terms", it is doubtful he would have received one of these. IF Ronnie still had his "official" badge and he is no longer with the agency, then presenting the badge would constitute impersonating a officer in most, if not all, states. In many, if not all states impersonating a police officer is a felony which in not normally a citeable offense.
I ,for one, hope it's only a rumor.

It is standard to go at least 10 mph over the limit where I live. Most people who come to visit claim that we have the worst drivers. It's just that they can't keep up and you have to be more of a defensive driver. If driving in a residential area by all means go the speed limit, but if you are on a expressway there should be a little more cushion.

Truth.
Doing the posted speed limit on I-81 between Carlisle and Harrisburg may be more dangerous than speeding, imo, as you run a very real chance of being run over by 18 wheelers or other motorists.
There's law and then there's common sense or self preservation.

He'll probably get a slap on the wrist at worst.
Google search string "penalty for impersonating a law enforcement officer" offered the following bit of text:
"Depending on state law, impersonating a police officer may be considered either a felony or a misdemeanor.
Punishments for impersonating a police officer include:
• Imprisonment up to five years (sometimes more)
• Fines (usually $1000 or more)
• Probation
• Permanent criminal record"
I'm guessing misdemeanor, no jail time, no fine, and maybe a stern word from a judge.
It's not like Coleman was ticketing people, using police flashers on his Hummer, or drawing down on nuns.

During a traffic stop in Dalworthington Gardens, Coleman told a police officer, who had stopped him for speeding, that he was an officer in nearby Arlington, police said. Coleman then said he was a reserve officer and later said he was an officer for a hospital, according to police.
Dalworthington Gardens police Sgt. David Henderson said Coleman also produced a badge but that a records check indicated that he hadn’t been a licensed officer since 2003.
Coleman, 45, posted bail Friday and was released from jail.

HERE IS ANOTHER ARTICLE FROM A DIFFERENT NEWSPAPER:
DALWORTHINGTON GARDENS — Former Arlington police officer, bodybuilder and eight-time Mr. Olympia winner Ronnie Coleman was arrested for impersonating a police officer Friday.
Coleman was stopped for speeding on California Lane in Dalworthington Gardens about 6 p.m.
During the stop, Coleman pulled out a badge and told the arresting officer that he was a police officer and a reserve police officer with Arlington, police said. Both statements turned out to be false, a police spokesman said.
Records showed that Coleman was a police officer with Arlington from 1998 to 2000, and then a reserve officer with Arlington from 2001 until 2003, said Sgt. David Henderson, Dalworthington Gardens police spokesman.
"Dalworthington Gardens called us after this traffic stop because he showed them a badge and an Arlington ID card," said Lt. Blake Miller, Arlington police spokesman.
Coleman later said he was an officer with the Baylor Health Care System, and during a second records check police discovered that was also false, Henderson said. The arresting officer took Coleman to jail, but he was released Friday after posting bail, Henderson said.
If convicted, Coleman could face a maximum fine of $2,000 and spend 180 days in jail.

Well look at "Mr. Morals". Whatever. Speed doesn't kill. People like you who probably refuse to get on to the right lane when the left is for PASSING cause accidents. The accident rate in Germany is far lower than it is here because they follow the other 115 rules of the road!!!
People texting while driving and so on. Do you have a Hands free kit in your car "Morals" or are you one of those folks that "just answered it for a minute". I frequently drive cross country and I will say that your math is skewed at best. At 70mph it takes me roughly 10 hours to drive 700 miles. at 85mph I can get 850 miles in the same amount of time. So please save me the "put my family in danger speech" I have been driving for 20 years and have never had an accident because I DRIVE. Not talk, put on make-up, drink hot latte's, text or any of that other ish. I simply drive.

Truth.
Doing the posted speed limit on I-81 between Carlisle and Harrisburg may be more dangerous than speeding, imo, as you run a very real chance of being run over by 18 wheelers or other motorists.
There's law and then there's common sense or self preservation.
EXACTLY. Going 5 under is just as dangerous. And if that Will guy didnt know you can get a ticket for going 5 under if the "flow of traffic" is 10 over. Its called impeding the flow of traffic. Yes I have seen it happen to my Father in Law.

What is dangerous in traffic, especially on highways, is FLUCTUATIONS in speed. Wheather it be, a car speeding super fast, or a car poking a long super slow. This could happen when exiting, entering, changing lanes...etc. Going with the "flow" of traffic is the safest thing to do, however, if that flow is 10 mph over, a cop can single people out and give tickets, obviously. As a traffic engineer myself, we try to keep the "fluctuations" to a minumum, and keep roadway safe.
Now about ronnie, I would try everything i could to get out of a ticket too lol

You are exactly right! I have a very fast car. That doesn't mean I drive it very fast all the time. You have to know how to speed. There are stretches of highway between my house and where my parents live up north where I've maintained between 120 - 150 for over an hour. At 70 - 80 MPH it is a five hour trip. I've done it in three. Never got a ticket there or anywhere else - I don't even have a radar detector. I don't text, talk, eat, read, or any of the other ludicrous things people do behind the wheel. I just drive - to the right - with both hands on the wheel just like they do in Germany where my car was made specifically for high speed driving. Before I leave I check my tire pressure, fluid levels, and do a walk around much like pilots do before they fly, checking for anything that could be an issue. I've also attended several driving/racing classes and enjoyed many track days in my car and others.
Speeding is just like anything else you do that has the potential for danger. If you don't respect it it will bite you.

Famed bodybuilder and eight-time Mr. Olympia winner Ronnie Coleman was arrested Friday and charged with falsely identifying himself as a police officer.
David Henderson said that Coleman also produced a badge, but that a records check indicated he hadn’t been a licensed officer since 2003.
Coleman, 45, posted bail Friday and was released from jail.

Isn't this the first time that a former Mr O has been arrested?
Though I'm not surprised that you're unaware of it, Larry Scott, Sergio, Arnold, Franco, Zane, Chris Dickerson, Samir Bannout, Lee Haney, Dorian Yates, Coleman, Cutler, and Jackson were each arrested.
Arnold Schwarzenegger gathered up the complete gang of Mr. Olympia winners and jetted off to Amsterdam, Rome, and Paris to pull off three separate heists. All the while, the boys dealt with increasing pressure from a very mad Terry Benedict, a dedicated Europol agent with a link to Franco's past, and a mysterious Guadeloupian rival known as the "Black Panther."
Unfortunately for these Olympians, the Europol agent was successful and brought them all to justice. Surprisingly, although they were each arrested and booked for their thievery, each Mr. Olympia was sentenced with a mere slap on the wrist - 20 hours of community service for each man at Gold's in Venice.
Their records were expunged and these events are little known in the bodybuilding community.

The story of Ferrigno and the WBF is apparently on the record, unlike my fictional yarn.
"It was announced in a private meeting ... that because Vince McMahon was under federal suspicion for steroid distribution, the second competition would have to be drug-free. Former television personality and bodybuilder Lou Ferrigno had just signed with the WBF and immediately left the company upon hearing this news."

That's some funny sh*t...
