I never really like these questions.
too many options...
too many factors...
JPS was great.
Kaz was great.
Mariusz is/was great.
Derek is on his way to great.

The sport is always changing and evolving and each "era" has it's best representative. Then you add in stationary lifts vs. carries/loading events and the names change places again.

However he is alos NOTOSIUS for skipping shows where ALL the big boys show up (like when Derek won Fortissimus last year) and I think some of the Arnolds as well. He would not fair well in such a heavy static show. Big Z would show him how it's done!
He has been training for 1 type of show only... WSM. The others are trying to be the "Best" overall.

I think it is a toss up between Pudz and Kaz. I do think that if Kazmaier were competing with todays competitors he would dominate.

Although I am partial to Kaz, I think that the competition is stiiffer today, due to the popularity of the sport. The talent today makes strongman ompetition very competititive. Even alot of your amateur competitors are very tough andn could have beten alot of the athletes from back in the day.

Top 5
Kaz
Zavickcas
Poundstone
Pudz
Ver Magnusson

We have to distinguish between the two different types of strongman contests. In the Worlds you must be more of a complete strength athlete. In a contest like this I think you can get no better than Pudz. Now if you’re talking about a contest like the Arnold or IFSA which is more about static strength then you have to go with Zavickcas. I would love to have seen Kas complete in more of a IFSA type contest cause I think he would have been even better.
