4. I knew he drew experience from the attack on his wife, I never knew it was by servicemen.
I was unaware that Wendy Carlos was a man once......I know the name, I have the soundtrack.
Great fascinating movie, but what is also just as fascinating, is the films reception, and peoples perception of the meanings of it.

After remaining absent in the minds of the "Hollywood hoards" for so long, I couldn't believe its popularity after it was re-released in 2001. I actually watched it for the first time in 1999, at a friends house, whose dad had a pirated copy from a German art house cinema, it was the shittiest copy, with German subtitles, and people walking in-front of the camera, but I was captivated.
5. The author Anthony Burgess was a genius in his own right too. Incredibly talented, he was also a linguist who wrote symphonies as a hobby! LOL He wrote Clockwork Orange as a dystopian future due to his own experience with his wife being attacked and raped by young servicemen during the War.

Not sure if you’ve seen already this, but it is another really good BBC documentary called “The Return Of Clockwork Orange” which gives you a comprehensive account of the book and film together. Check it out!

And, that’s your film history lesson for today! LOL

“There was me, that is Alex, and my three droogs, that is Pete, Georgie, and Dim, and we sat in the Korova Milkbar trying to make up our rassoodocks what to do with the evening.”

6. Believe me MGSSO, I could literally talk for hours about this! LOL

Yes, the innovative use of synthesizers saw the introduction of electronica into movie scores, which was still a rarity in those days. I’m guessing you already know this, but it was the classic Ludwig Van score was by Wendy Carlos, who used to be a Man!

Here’s a brilliant documentary the BBC made here in England about the progression and history of electronic music. It’s called ‘Synth Brittania’ and features a lot of the well-known musicans and bands who became popular in the 80’s.

7. I havent read the book.....yet.....I really have a lot of trouble sticking to novels, I read more non fiction.
My cousin actually played Mr Deltoid in a Arthouse stage adaptation of the book, but they played it out in Victorian attire, and a girl played little Alex. Sick puppies, he has a role now in hair.

I didnt know that about the language, interesting..

I cinematography is amazing, but the score, combined with ultra-violence amongst derelict Bauhaus, makes for some powerful viewing, if one can catch the undercurrents of where the film goes.

When I hear singing in the rain, all I can think of is "Viddy well little brother, Viddy well"
8. Hey, thanks for the REPS.

Yes, Kubrick was the Man, for sure.

His attention to detail, and technical meticulousness are well known. A gifted genius.

Clockwork Orange is a classic too. The cinematography is stunning.

I'm a fan of the original book, written by Anthony Burgess. The language Nadstat is a form of Russian which he created. Some of those phrases are often used.
