About PA Kodiak
- In 2008 I walked away from my dreams of becoming a pro wrestler. After 9 months of training I left the NWA East pro wrestling academy because I had found a new passion; bodybuilding.
Over the next several years, I managed to pack on a lot of size. In 2014 I reached my record weight of 258 lbs. Over the course of 5 years I managed to gain 100 lbs. I was big, but I did not look like a bodybuilder and I was beginning to give up on the idea of competing.
Within that same year I lost both my grandparents. At my grandmother’s viewing I kneeled at her side and promised her I would make her proud. In the spring of 2015 I knuckled down and began preparing to compete in the NPC Elite Physique Championships later that fall. Every day as I trained for this competition I prayed to God and to my grandparents and thanked them for the strength and inspiration they had provided me with.
Over the course of a 28 week contest prep I dropped 8% bodyfat and on the day of the show I took 2nd place in my weight class, and 3rd in the true novice division. I am now in my first official offseason, spending the next 15 months adding some much needed size. I will be starting my next contest prep in December 2016 when I begin preparing for the 2017 NPC Mid Atlantic Cup.
Bodybuilding has taught me many values that can be applied to all aspects of life; to be disciplined, to have patience, to believe in yourself, and that hard work pays off. NEVER give up on your dreams.
