As to BB.com, they still owe us several $thousand dollars after not paying for 7 months. we did the court thing and they are paying us off...(at this rate it will be 20 more years) so not likely we will ever do buisness with them again. Just wanted you to know I did look into it and I do see a problem best solved at the distributors level. Which we are seeing what can be done. I know we ship a 40 footer by ship into Austrailia per month so I imagine he is not seeing the fact that just a 20% cut would increase his sales likely 100% so just not using his head, so far. Worth trying though.
Leon: I looked into you comments about pricing in Australia. I learned a lot while there and still learning. As to price, realize that to legally import products from the US to Australia shipping, terrifs, taxes are all added to the purchase price of any product going to a distributor. That increases price about 30% from what i have been able to learn thus far. However, I was a bit shocked when I saw the marke-up the distributor puts on our line. Then of course the retailer does his/her mark-up which is not THAT bad. But I do see the distributor needs to rethink pricing to the retailer and then it would affect the customer more positively as well. I realize your income in Australia is about twice that of the USA ($12 for a Subway sandwhich I can get in the USA for $4 and waitresses making $22 an hour?) but that still is not the point.
Hope we had a chance to chat. We just got back to the USA about 2 hours ago.
