absolutely. i should mention, that once that withdrawl urge went away for me (at about 1 year) the urge to feel the way i did did not go away. i ended up getting pretty bad anxiety, and over time, it went away. but it was a battle. then 10 years ago, i started getting panic attacks out of the blue. talked to a new doctor, started using paxil, and i've been on it ever since. with no more anxiety or panic attacks.
so theres always a battle to be fought, and with anxiety, i don't feel bad about battling it with meds. they really helped me during that 1st year as well.

i feel great as far as the addiction goes. i lost that feeling of "needing" to drink after a year of sobriety, albeit a tough year. early in my sobriety there wasn't a day (or hour!) that went by that i didn't think about being sober and working hard to stay that way.
now, that has changed, where sometimes i actually forget to thank the good Lord for it at the end of the day. before, i was begging and pleading to remove that urge, and get thru the day without drinking. But over time, you get used to not needing it anymore.

kratos, i'm following your opiate addiction thread right now. like i said in my posts, i didn't go thru opiate addiction, but i'm an alcoholic. been sober for 17 yrs now. if u EVER need to talk to someone, let me know. stay strong brother! big nut

yea doctor, or you can probably order it online. it's not a controlled substance.. any doc will give u a script for it though

and honestly, if you wanna play it safe get some naltrexone and take that for a month after. that'll give you a solid month off opiates, at that point it's a fuckin choice to go back. right now ur in the i dont have a choice i gotta get right mode i cant feel like this ya know

yep. it's still gonna suck fuckin dick. definitely get the subs though, u can't get high on them. i mean you can, but it takes wayyyy more and doesn't deliver the same results.

you'll be withdrawing on it. it helps get rid of the symptoms. since you're coming off pills and not dope i might do with a 7 day detox because the half life is longer than heroin. when you come off the subs, hit a lottttt of meetings, like >1 per day. 2 is better than one, just like pills more meetings u rack up in the beginning, better chance u have. do the whole 90 meetings in 90 days shit

5 days. go 8mg,8,8,4,4 and you should be alright. it still sucks dick, but it makes the first 5 days tolerable
