Just got back into the heavy lifting. Have always just done a basic 6x6 5x5 4x5 3x5x then doubles week before the meet.
For this deadlift meet, being that it is a max and a dead for reps, I really havent done much heavy work. Just been hitting 500 for sets of 10 to 12. And just started doing some singles last week to see where im going to open at meet in two weeks. Kinda unorthodox training, but it was short notice of meet. Found out about it in February, hadnt been deadlifting steadly in years. So kinda playing catch-up.
Found of a good video for you of Louie teaching. Pay particular attention to what he says in the beginning and especially at the end, like the last minute or so. Enjoy.
Are you hitting the glute/ham raise hard a few times a week along w/the reverse hyper and squeezing at the top, along w/sled dragging? You gotta slowly increase your threshold w/those exercises if you aren't doing them already.
