Nasser El Sonbaty much? Samir Bannout? Mohamed Makkawy? Mohammed Benaziza? It's not like yesteryear was lacking in bodybuilders from the Arab world.
Fouad Abiad was born in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, and is of Lebanese heritage.
Mamdouh 'Big Ramy' Elssbiay is an Egyptian-born Kuwaiti.
Who else? I'm sure it's not a short list.

I hesitate to pick on anyone's memory. Lean pretty heavily on Google myself, but I dooooo remember, oh, SOMEONE FROM LEBANON WAS MR. OLYMPIA! lol
Agreed. Also, arabs, at least most top pros put bodybuilding on the map imo lets not forget
People from the Levant, Egypt and Persia are not Arab. FYI

An Austrian put bodybuilding on the map.
There's a strong argument for a Cuban as well.

A lot of this is true. I reminded of a photo or two in the Pumping Iron book (which is from when - 1975?).
What might be true is, for now while there's still oil, they have the money that, if they wanted to, they could dominate bodybuilding in terms of shows and prize money. All it'd take is one prince / sheikh to show an interest with their pocket money and boom. It nearly happened with the NABBA Mr U back in the day with John Paul Getty.

Point to Persia on a up-to-date map. It USED to exist as a place. Wiki suggests it's mostly an Iranian race (spread over 4 countries now inc Turkey).

That's why I said Persia. I assumed most people have some knowledge of history and geography like you do.
Yet they speak Arabic. And if you ask where are you from their response is "middle east"
People from the Levant, Egypt and Persia are not Arab. FYI
