The one thing Dave Palumbo told me is that no matter what, we have to bring Bros vs Pros back to the Tri-state area at the close of the year. Last year we were close, in Chicago at the Jakked Gym. The year prior we were in Deer Park, NY at the Golds Gym and the performances were immense and spectacular!

This year, bodybuilding lost one of its legends of the sport. John Kemper had the mindset of not only living the lifestyle and possessing one of the greatest physiques the nation had ever seen, but he had the ability to culture new talent. John empowered people to bring the best in themselves to the gym and stage. When John Kemper left us earlier this year, he set in stone the legacy of one of the greatest training facilities in the country. It may not be big, it may not be pretty, but it produces champions!

11-15-2012 - Breaking News: CONFIRMED!!! Brand Spanking New IFBB Pro Brian Yersky is confirmed as the Mens Pro for the Bros vs Pros 13! He is joined by IFBB Physique Pro Nola Trimble as the duo to beat in Maplewood.

Now confirmed and a slightly different format for the men: $1,500 goes to the top placer in the 225lb Benchpress for Reps Event and $500 will go to the 135lb Curl for Reps Event. The ladies will do the same two events, but weight will be determined by Bodyweight. 80% bodyweight for bench, 50% for curtls. $750 for the bench and $250 for the curls!

Yes, Brian Yersky is our official pro, but a dude named Seth Feroce threw his hat in the ring today as well as 2012 National heavyweight champ Justin Compton!

IFBB Pro Drew Jemmit will be in the house to support his Pro brethren as will the BIG BIG man B S A !

This event will have special guest DJ Robbie Lopez spinning music for the joint AND we will have our first ever Bros vs Pros After party at Robbie's club later that night!

As part of this event and considering the damage to the NJ communities surrounding Maplewood, we are conducting a food drive for the Community Food Bank of New Jersey, Maplewood. Remember, all Bros vs Pros events are free of charge but this event gives us the opportunity to give to those less fortunate than ourselves. Think about the massive quantities of food that we as bodybuilders consume every day. Now realize that children in every community in this country go to bed hungry every single day.

Take a moment to pick up a few extra items when doing your shopping and bring them to the Diamond Gym on December 15th. Cash donations will be accepted by me personally to be turned over to management at the Diamond Gym who in turn will arrange for all of the days proceeds to be delivered to the Food Bank.

I really loved JOHN KEMPER and it was important to me to honor him at his original DIAMOND GYM with a real hardcore competition such as BROS VS PROS...hopefully everyone will come down to compete or support the effort on DEC 15th SATURDAY........ at DIAMOND GYM in MAPLEWOOD, NJ!

Didn't see it posted earlier, but I checked Diamond Gym website, and the event is supposed to start @ 1PM. Is there a cover fee @ the door?

I'm looking to get there a bit early - perhaps even 11am. I'd look to get a workout there also, and I'm assuming they have guest passes available.

I think to win this 45+ is what it will take at 225.

roller has a certain advantage in those t-rex arms he has, short range of motion! and I mean that ins a positive way!

either way, all of these guys, a DJ mixing music, a food drive, an after hours party and we havent even really addressed the women yet!

I have a former champion confirmed, spoke with Rebecca Klopp but she is competing in a strongman competition (she powerlifts, competes in fitness, crossfit, strongman and is a BvP champion). but since we are in NJ, there are a TON of ladies who are off season who will want to spend time hanging and banging with us on Dec 15. more to come!

A quick update and expect an article covering all of this, but our womens pro will be none other than IFBB Physique Pro Nola Trimble. Nola kicked some serious ass in near contest form in Phoenix last year, and I expect nothing less than awesome from her this year.

This keeps getting bigger and better every day. If you are in the area or are doing some holiday shopping in the big NYC, then drop in for some serious talent and the chance to rub elbows with some of the best the IFBB and NPC have to offer.
